As you read this transcript, realize that the same thing can be said for "Christianity" and famous "Evangelicals". People have no backbone anymore.
Many people are afraid of offending everyone but their own circle of people who actually stand on its platform and principles. Such people are not tolerated even though they are abiding by their group's own document, "Christian" or Republican. They give lip service to the principles, but they cower in public, fear rejection, and basically are sissies, unwilling to be men...to be leaders. Thank GOD these "leaders" weren't around in 1776, otherwise we'd still belong to England.
When a celebrity (examples here , here , here, here as well as here) becomes the identification of a group (by people in the group) and not the principles and values, you've just reached failure. Their leader will not be questioned or jettisoned if proven to be in great error. Because people will dump principles to follow a man.
They already have. And they will again, to their destruction.
