National Journal reports Obama says Trayvon Martin "could've been me 35 years ago".
35 years ago, the racial issue was more of a major issue (see the latest Gallup poll on this). Still ,growing up, Obama didn't face civil rights violations or discrimination (neither has Martin). He lived quite a charmed life of getting the best private education money could afford, not only abroad in Indonesia, but here in the US as well.
Obama tries to identify with a black kid who was rather a punk when Obama is more white than black, which shows that he's merely race-baiting. He's trying to identify with a life that was never his. It reminds me of the rapers who play big-bad-urban-street-punk, when in reality they grew up in Suburbia with a nice income.
It smacks of nothing more than politics.
Whatever is next? Hillary from the Hood?
One wonders why the Hispanic community is so silent on this clear racism against Hispanics from the President on down.
