If you believe in voting in a "lesser evil" leader, stating that we aren't after all, voting for a pastor, then you cannot except such a man to stand for righteousness. You cannot expect him to care about Christian at all, either here or abroad. To expect righteous indignation from an unrighteous man is insane.
