Lies and Deception of Muslims: it's taught in their books

Muslims are allowed to lie to unbelievers in order to defeat them. There are several forms:
• Taqiyya (Shia) or Muda'rat (Sunni):
tactical deceit for the purposes of spreading Islam.
• Kitman: deceit by omission.
• Tawriya: deceit by ambiguity.
• Taysir: deceit through facilitation
(not having to observe all the tenets of Sharia).
• Darura: deceit through necessity
(to engage in something "Haram" or forbidden).
• Muruna: the temporary suspension of Sharia in order that Muslim immigrants appear "moderate".

Though not called taqiyya by name, Muhammad clearly used deception when he signed a 10-year treaty with the Meccans (known as Hudaibiya) that allowed him access to their city while he secretly prepared his own forces for a takeover. The unsuspecting residents were conquered in easy fashion after he broke the treaty two years later. Some of the people in the city who had trusted him at his word were executed.

Another example of lying is when Muhammad used deception to trick his personal enemies into letting down their guard and exposing themselves to slaughter by pretending to seek peace. This happened in the case of Ka'b bin al-Ashraf (as previously noted) and again later against Usayr ibn Zarim, a surviving leader of the Banu Nadir tribe, which had been evicted from their home in Medina by the Muslims...

Such was the reputation of early Muslims for lying and then killing that even those who "accepted Islam" did not feel entirely safe. Consider the fate of the Jadhima. When Muslim "missionaries" approached their tribe, one of the members insisted that they would be slaughtered even though they had already "converted" to Islam to avoid just such a demise. However, the others believed they could trust the Muslim leader's promise that they would not be harmed if they simply offered no resistance. (After convincing the skeptic to lay down his arms, the unarmed men of the tribe were quickly tied up and beheaded - Ibn Ishaq 834 & 837)...

Leaders in the Arab world sometimes say one thing to English-speaking audiences and then something entirely different to their own people in Arabic. ..

The Compromise Of Churches

[I]f the world will not come to Jesus, shall Jesus tone down his teachings to the world? In other words, if the world will not rise to the church, shall not the church go down to the world?
Instead of bidding men to be converted, and come out from among sinners, and be separate from them, let us join with the ungodly world, enter into union with it, and so pervade it with our influence by allowing it to influence us.
Let us have a Christian world. To this end let us revise our doctrines. Some are old-fashioned, grim, severe, unpopular; let us drop them out. Use the old phrases so as to please the obstinately orthodox, but give them new meanings so as to win philosophical infidels, who are prowling around.
Pare off the edges of unpleasant truths, and moderate the dogmatic tone of infallible revelation: say that Abraham and Moses made mistakes, and that the books which have been so long had in reverence are full of errors. Undermine the old faith, and bring in the new doubt; for the times are altered, and the spirit of the age suggests the abandonment of everything that is too severely righteous, and too surely of God.
The deceitful adulteration of doctrine is attended by a falsification of experience. Men are now told that they were born good, or were made so by their infant baptism, and so that great sentence, “Ye must be born again,” is deprived of its force.
Repentance is ignored, faith is a drug in the market as compared with “honest doubt,” and mourning for sin and communion with God are dispensed with, to make way for entertainments, and Socialism, and politics of varying shades. A new creature in Christ Jesus is looked upon as a sour invention of bigoted Puritans.
It is true, with the same breath they extol Oliver Cromwell; but then 1888 is not 1648. What was good and great three hundred years ago is mere cant to-day. That is what “modern thought” is telling us; and under its guidance all religion is being toned down.
Spiritual religion is despised, and a fashionable morality is set up in its place. Do yourself up tidily on Sunday; behave yourself; and above all, believe everything except what you read in the Bible, and you will be all right. Be fashionable, and think with those who profess to be scientific—this is the first and great commandment of the modern school; and the second is like unto it—do not be singular, but be as worldly as your neighbours.
Thus is Isaac going down into Padan-aram: thus is the church going down to the world. Men seem to say—It is of no use going on in the old way, fetching out one here and another there from the great mass. We want a quicker way.
To wait till people are born again, and become followers of Christ, is a long process: let us abolish the separation between the regenerate and unregenerate. Come into the church, all of you, converted or unconverted. You have good wishes and good resolutions; that will do: don’t trouble about more.
It is true you do not believe the gospel, but neither do we. You believe something or other. Come along; if you do not believe anything, no matter; your “honest doubt” is better by far than faith. “But,” say you, “nobody talks so.”
Possibly they do not use the same words, but this is the real meaning of the present-day religion; this is the drift of the times. I can justify the broadest statement I have made by the action or by the speech of certain ministers, who are treacherously betraying our holy religion under pretence of adapting it to this progressive age.
The new plan is to assimilate the church to the world, and so include a larger area within its bounds. By semi-dramatic performances they make houses of prayer to approximate to the theatre; they turn their services into musical displays, and their sermons into political harangues or philosophical essays—in fact, they exchange the temple for the theatre, and turn the ministers of God into actors, whose business it is to amuse men.
Is it not so, that the Lord’s-day is becoming more and more a day of recreation or of idleness, and the Lord’s house either a joss-house full of idols, or a political club, where there is more enthusiasm for a party than zeal for GodAh me! the hedges are broken down, the walls are levelled, and to many there is henceforth, no church except as a portion of the world, no God except as an unknowable force by which the laws of nature work.
This, then, is the proposal. In order to win the world, the Lord Jesus must conform Himself, His people, and His Word to the world. I will not dwell any longer on so loathsome a proposal… Notice his master’s outspoken, believing repudiation of the proposal.
He says, shortly and sharply, “Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.” The Lord Jesus Christ heads that grand emigration party which has come right out from the world. Addressing His disciples, He says, “Ye are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.”
We are not of the world by birth, not of the world in life, not of the world in object, not of the world in spirit, not of the world in any respect whatever. Jesus, and those who are in Him, constitute a new race. The proposal to go back to the world is abhorrent to our best instincts; yea, deadly to our noblest life.
A voice from heaven cries, “Bring not my son thither again.” Let not the people whom the Lord brought up out of Egypt return to the house of bondage; but let their children come out, and be separate, and the Lord Jehovah will be a Father unto them. (Online source)

To Grow In Grace Is Not To Grow In Complacency

"Let it be said emphatically that growing "in grace" most certainly does not mean an increasing satisfaction with myself. No, it is the very opposite. The more I walk in the light of God, the more plainly can I see the wiliness of the "flesh" within me, and there will be an ever-deepening abhorrence of what I am by nature. "For to will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good I find not" (Rom. 7:18) is not the confession of an unbeliever, nor even of a babe in Christ, but of the most enlightened saint. The only relief from this distressing discovery and the only peace for the renewed heart is to look away from self to Christ and His perfect work for us. Faith empties of all self-complacency and gives an exalted estimate of God in Christ."

James White Revealing A Post-Modern Mindset

James White said some troubling things in his "dialogue" with imam Yasir Qadhi in Part 1 which took place in a church.

Time mark 17:57
"And yet people will hold me accountable for the Westboro Baptist church people and things like that. And I’m like wait a minute. That’s not my life. That’s not how I approach people. That’s not my perspective. I do not want to be painted with that brush. I demand the right of self definition of what my faith is. We all demand that right. And yet for many Christians we refuse that right to Muslims."

This is nothing but a subject claim to identity and definition. Scripture however, tells us to judge all things by the standard of Scripture. It alone defines what is right and wrong, true and erroneous; what is a true Christian and a false one. In trying to individualize all people of all religions, White has removed the ability to show the enslavement of the sinner in his own religion (making self-made religions within a religion--and by the way, isn't "self identity" exactly what we see society advocating when it comes to race and gender now?) and spiritual harlotry of those claiming to be saved but still within that religion (any others other than biblical Christianity; for example the New Apostolic Reformation, Word of Faith Movement, Spirituality). He also used himself as the standard against the Westboro church. The biblical Christian would use Scripture as the standard to show how heretical that church and what he or she purportedly holds to. Pluralism or syncretism is always rejected by God. To take tenents of two opposing bodies of doctrine like the 5 Solas - TULIP and also hold to Charismaticism, which is entirely diametrically opposed to the 5 Solas and TULIP, as a current example in Evangelicalism, is self-contradictory and so we have more proof of this Post-Modernism, self-individualized religions. It's creating new religions including new kinds of "Christians" which according to Scripture do not exist by reason of doctrine and practice. To customize adherence to a false religion--taking the parts one likes, and trying to discard the rest (like a buffet--pick and choose), isn't possible --it's dishonest and inconsistent, especially when you still take the label of one or both of those sets of beliefs. It didn't work with Israel and it can't work with Christians (2 Cor. 6:14-18). This is doctrinal triage. It's trying to find "good" in what God says is wicked. The standard  to test a religion and it's adherent must be objective and it must be able to to deal with both doctrine and practice; we hold them up to their religion's standard of official teachings and teachers in addition to Scripture.

1Jn 1:4  These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete.
1Jn 1:5  This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
1Jn 1:6  If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;
1Jn 1:7  but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

1Jn 5:13  These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

2Jn 1:9  Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.
2Jn 1:10  If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting;
2Jn 1:11  for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.

Joh 7:24  Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment."

Is. 8 20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.

Act 17:11  Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

2Tim. 4: . 3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

Heb 5:14  But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice  to distinguish  good from evil.

1Jo 2:4  Whoever says "I know him" but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,

1Co 5:11  But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler--not even to eat with such a one.

1Ti 6:3  If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness4  he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions,

1Ti 1:3  As I urged you upon my departure for Macedonia, remain on at Ephesus so that you may instruct certain men not to teach strange doctrines
1Ti 1:4  nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering the administration of God which is by faith.
1Ti 1:5  But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
1Ti 1:6  For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion,

1Ti 1:7  wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.

James White Says Christians Uniting With Muslims Might Help Us Survive Secularism

Time mark 1:02:00 is where James White actually states his desire is to unite with Muslims so that together the Christians and Muslims can stand against this secular culture. He actually said that. That violates 2 Cor. 6:14-18 as well as Isaiah where God condemns Israel for making alliances with Egypt to help them survive their other enemies:

Isa 30:1  "Ah, stubborn children," declares the LORD, "who carry out a plan, but not mine, and who make an alliance, but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin;
Isa 30:2  who set out to go down to Egypt, without asking for my direction, to take refuge in the protection of Pharaoh and to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt!

Isa 30:3  Therefore shall the protection of Pharaoh turn to your shame, and the shelter in the shadow of Egypt to your humiliation.

Isa 31:1  Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult the LORD!

Isa 31:2  And yet he is wise and brings disaster; he does not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evildoers and against the helpers of those who work iniquity.

Jeremiah 17:5, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind and makes flesh his strength and whose heart turns away from the Lord.’”

And let's not forget that according to Islam, Muslims are to eradicate Jews and Christians from the earth.

Resolve Against All To Follow Christ Jesus

Be especially wary of carnal friends and relatives when you decide to follow Christ. Resolve that if your own children grab you by the ankles and try to hold you back from Him, you will drive them away. And if your father and mother throw themselves in front of you, you will step over their backs if you must, to get to Christ. Let those who will, mock and scorn your faith. What is heaven worth if you cannot bear a little shame? If they spit on your face, Christ will wipe it off. They may laugh at you now, but not later. The final outcome has already been declared, and you have sided with the victor.

Will You Have Regret In Living Too "Strictly" On Earth When You Stand Before God?

"Does any Christian reader imagine for a moment that when he or she shall stand before their holy Lord, that they will regret having lived "too strictly" on earth? Is there the slightest danger of His reproving any of His own because they were "too extreme" in "abstaining from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul" (1 Peter 2:11)? We may gain the good will and good works of worldly religionists today by our compromising on "little (?) points," but shall we receive His smile and approval on that day? Oh to be more concerned about what HE thinks, and less concerned about what perishing mortals think."

~ Arthur Pink, "Studies in the Scriptures"

Tit 2:6  Likewise urge the young men to be sensible;
Tit 2:7  in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified,
Tit 2:8  sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us.
Tit 2:9  Urge bondslaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,
Tit 2:10  not pilfering, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.
Tit 2:11  For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,
Tit 2:12  instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age,
Tit 2:13  looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,

Tit 2:14  who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

The Attributes of God: the lawless insurrectionist vs the justice of Divine Sovereignty

“Eternal life is a gift, therefore it can neither be earned by good works, nor claimed as a right (Ephesians 2:8-8)....He refuses none who come to Him empty-handed and in the way of His appointing....Is God obliged to force His gift on those who value it not?
Is God compelled to save those who are determined to go their own way?"...That grace cannot be earned or won by any efforts of man is too self-emptying for self-righteous....A lawless insurrectionist dares to call into question the justice of Divine sovereignty.”

The World Is Disgusted: Jihad Watch's Robert Spencer Rebukes James White And Imam Yasir Qadhi's "Dialogue"

Rom 16:17  Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. 18  For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. 19  For the report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil.

Excerpts from Jihad Watch's Robert Spencer (not a Christian ministry or organization and I don't think Spencer makes a claim to Christianity) reports on James White's embracing imam Yasir Qadhi and finding a kindred spirit with him, painting him as a "moderate":

White also claims that Jews, Christians, and Muslims would all agree that idolaters are filthy in God’s sight, and shows no awareness of the fact that the idea that unbelievers are unclean is a live concept among some Muslims, notably Shi’ites. The renowned Ayatollah Sistani classifies unbelievers as unclean, along with pigs, dogs, dead bodies, etc. What Jews or Christians do that?...
It’s ironic: White, in this lengthy video, scolds people for supposedly not being fair to Qadhi, falsely claims that my intention was to portray Qadhi’s words inaccurately, and self-righteously admonishes Christians that they have to be fair to Muslims even in disagreement. Then he sits by sympathetically as Qadhi lies about Pamela Geller and me, as well as about his own words. I wrote White about this several months ago; he responded contemptuously and refused to correct the record. In light of White’s manifest credulity in the face of Qadhi’s distortions and outright lies, it is no surprise that he is led around by the nose in Olive Branch, Mississippi. White praises himself, saying that Muslims have come up to him and thanked him for attempting to portray their faith accurately...
Whoever White has in mind as these nefarious forces (and I think I know, and I think you do, too), they are absolutely right: White is a Useful Idiot par excellence, in his credulity, naivete, and ignorance of Islamic theology, law and history allowing himself to be used by the deceptive jihadist Qadhi. I am all for genuine dscussion between Christians and Muslims, but that means that the Christians are informed participants, not gullible fools having their pockets picked by jihadist sharpies. James White is a living, walking object lesson in the dangers of Muslim/Christian “dialogue” when pursued by uninformed and naive Christians, and particularly when pursued by uninformed and naive Christians with a fatuous confidence in their own knowledge and righteousness.
End quote.
Additionally Spencer deals with several of the claims Qadhi and shows he's lying. For example, Qadhi says that nowhere in the history of Islam did Muslims burn people in cages; ISIS doing this is a new thing. However Spencer lists just five examples in history that proves the imam was lying:in the 630's during the Wars of Apostasy, in 1272, in 1590's, in 1720's, 1792--all specific instances. Now, if Qadhi is lying on this claim (to sanitize true Islam as a nicer Islam so gullible Americans accept it and defend it, much like what White is doing), what else is he lying about? Plenty!
In the search for common ground between Islam and Christianity, the imam sites family values and homosexuality. Family values? Seriously? The problem is that Islam's version of family values begins with the superiority of man and the inferiority and degradation of women:
Surah 4:34: Men are the managers of the affairs of women...those you fear may be rebellious admoinsh; banish them to their couches, and beat them.

Hadith - Burkhari vol. I, no. 301: Allah's Apostle...said, "O women! Give alms, as I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-fire were you women...I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you."

"Men are superior to women on account of the qualities which God hath gifted the one above the other, S. 4:34

Sura 4:11 says: The share of the male shall be twice that of a female

Sura 2:282 says:
And let two men from among you bear witness to all such documents [contracts of loans without interest]. But if two men be not available, there should be one man and two women to bear witness so that if one of the women forgets (anything), the other may remind her. (Maududi, vol. 1, p. 205).

Sura 2:282:
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri:
The Prophet said, "Isn’t the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?" The women said, "Yes." He said, "This is because of the deficiency of a woman’s mind."

White didn't bother with this either. Silence in this venue was complicity. Scripture states that we are to abstain from all forms of evil AND we're to expose wickedness, not give it cover. And what kind of witness has White given to the world? A horrible one! And to use the world's philosophies, methods, thinking, and just plain desiring it's applause is anti-Christ:

Jas 4:4  You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
Jas 4:5  Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: "He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us"?
Jas 4:6  But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, "GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE."
Jas 4:7  Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Col 2:2  that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself,
Col 2:3  in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Col 2:4  I say this so that no one will delude you with persuasive argument.

1Th 5:21  But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good22  abstain from every form of evil.

Ti 3:2  An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach...7  And he must have a good reputation with those outside the church, so that he will not fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

2Co 6:14  Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?
2Co 6:15  Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?
2Co 6:16  Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, "I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.
2Co 6:17  "Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE," says the Lord. "AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; And I will welcome you.

Eph 4:17  So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,
Eph 4:18  being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;
Eph 4:19  and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.
Eph 4:20  But you did not learn Christ in this way, Eph 4:21  if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus,
Eph 4:22  that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,
Eph 4:23  and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
Eph 4:24  and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
Eph 4:25  Therefore, laying aside falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, for we are members of one another.

This is an example of an imam (Abu Hamza Al Masri of London who was on trial and convicted of 11 federal charges of terrorism in 2014) claiming to be a friend of Westerners (and using al-taqiyya) as as did the imam to White:

For his four days in the witness box in his US terrorism trial, Abu Hamza indulged in a shameless and desperate attempt at reinvention.

Gone was the menacing ranting Islamic preacher, jabbing his distinctive prosthetic hook as he delivered incendiary sermons to his followers at a north London mosque.
Instead, in court in New York, he tried to come across as reasoned and calm, a man of moderation who continually asserted that he was unaware of, or not involved in, acts of terrorism - and even claimed that he acted as a peacemaking intermediary with Muslim extremists.

That portrayal was a far cry from the case made by US prosecutors as they took the Manhattan jury 3,500 miles across the Atlantic to the four-story red-brick structure of the Finsbury Park mosque.

End quote.

Hamza was convicted on 11 federal counts of terrorism.

Josh Duggar Pulls A Kathy Griffin

According to  "The Christian Post":

Josh Duggar is reportedly joining his sisters' lawsuit against his local Springdale, Arkansas city officials and In Touch magazine, according to new reports that claim the television personality feels publicly humiliated after those parties failed to protect his privacy.

According to TMZ, Duggar is seeking damages from local police, prosecutors and In Touch publishers because he was "victimized and forced to relive the painful and difficult circumstances of a traumatic experience as a juvenile."

Seems like he's pulling a Kathy Griffin ,after all, he's not a victim whatsoever. He's the perpetrator and he got caught. Not only did he violate the law in his sexual advances on his sisters as well as one or two other girls when a teenager (and because it was revealed years later, it wasn't like his life as a teenager was destroyed by being exposed while a minor), but he also got caught a few years ago visiting the Ashley Madison adultery website and subsequently met up with a prostitute, allegedly.  Apparently he used Matthew McCarthy's California driver's license photo for Duggar's Ashley Madison account which is a crime and according to The Christian Post, is facing a lawsuit--a lawsuit that is seeking $25,000 in damages to his career as a DJ, which would make sense, as people thought he was connected to Josh and the Ashley Madison fiasco. The only victims here were his sisters and one or two other women that he molested years ago, and McCarthy. Not Duggar. Duggar is the perpetrator.  His cry of victimhood shows a hard heart that won't take full responsibility of his own sin, even now. Even while claiming Christ as Lord. If one is unregenerate, then mere outward restrictions won't last long, especially as one's heart increasingly hardens. That's the real issue here. God won't be mocked. What was done in darkness was brought to light. Celebrity "Christians" can't use the name of Christ for monetary gain and fame nor can they use it to hide their sin.

I find it interesting that all the siblings who whined about the past being dredged up and who wanted it to just go away so they could go on with their lives as they had been until the police report was reported about online, are now dredging it up again themselves. That seems hypocritical.

Eph 5:11  Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;
Eph 5:12  for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
Eph 5:13  But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.
Eph 5:14  For this reason it says, "Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you."
Eph 5:15  Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise,
Eph 5:16  making the most of your time, because the days are evil.

Isa 29:15  Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from the LORD, And whose deeds are done in a dark place, And they say, "Who sees us?" or "Who knows us?"

Francis Chan Continues To Focus On Suffering

Chan is an unsound teacher. He continually focuses on suffering. It's as if he wants to suffer (literally) and if he can't, he'll do it vicariously through those who do. The view that Teresa of Calcutta had--that suffering makes us closer to Jesus--is echoed in the quote below and it is not biblical. This is twisted thinking on suffering and calling people to suffer---all for an experience. While we are called to suffer for Christ, its only according to His will. We aren't to obsess over it nor are we to seek it. We aren't to idolize it either nor see it as Romanists do---as a means to get a spiritual experience, without which we won't *really* know Jesus intimately.

"They tell me, 'When I was surrounded by these soldiers, I felt the presence of Jesus in there with me. Now that we are back in Seoul, I am trying to experience that intimacy with Him but I can't. I fast and I pray and I don't feel it. I would rather be back there because of the intimacy I had with him.'"
Chan then suggested that the presence of Jesus that these Christian missionaries felt while they faced the threat of execution is probably similar to what certain martyrs in the Bible experienced before they were killed.
"Is there a special fellowship that we share in that suffering that we will miss out on because we just think comfort is everything and we just want to pull everyone into our comfort and into our civilian affairs rather than joining in their suffering and losing our life so that we can actually find something so much better?"
End quote.
It's interesting that Chan doesn't deal with biblical doctrine and the persecution that happens inside the churches because of the hostility against the Truth by most profess "Christians". That's where persecution begins and that's where God will judge first.
1Pe 4:17  For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?
1Pe 4:18  AND IF IT IS WITH DIFFICULTY THAT THE RIGHTEOUS IS SAVED, WHAT WILL BECOME OF THE GODLESS MAN AND THE SINNER?
1Pe 4:19  Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.
Col 2:21  "Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!"
Col 2:22  (which all refer to things destined to perish with use)--in accordance with the commandments and teachings of men?
Col 2:23  These are matters which have, to be sure, the appearance of wisdom in self-made religion and self-abasement and severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly indulgence.
1Pe 3:17  For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.

Those Who Love The Truth

“Those who do “love the truth” (2 Thessalonians 2:10) are they in whom a divine work of grace has been wrought. They have something more than a clear, intellectual understanding of the Scripture: it is the food of their souls, the joy of their hearts (Jeremiah 15:16). They love the truth, and because they do so, they hate error and shun it as deadly poison. They are jealous for the glory of the Author of the Word, and will not sit under a minister whose teaching dishonors Him; they will not listen to preaching which exalts man into the place of supremacy, so that he is the decider of his own destiny.”
~ Arthur Pink , "Experimental Salvation"

2Th 2:8  Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;
2Th 2:9  that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders,
2Th 2:10  and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.
2Th 2:11  For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false,
2Th 2:12  in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.

Barnabas Piper Loves Eastern Mystic Heretic Brennan Manning

2 Tim. 4 3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

It seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Then again, when you've grown up on false doctrines and a low view of Scripture, emboldened by your parents, it's not a surprise.

Barnabas Piper, one of John Piper's sons, who was divorced by his wife at the end of last year (it sounds like it was an unbiblical one and it has come up first in January when he announced it and then again last week in a "Christianity Today" interview), has written a post applauding Brennan Manning's book "Ragamuffin Gospel". Manning is a false teacher and was a key factor in the anti-biblical Emergent Church Movement (so really, B Piper is behind the curve).

He offers 50 of the best quotes, but starts by saying:

I recently read Brennan Manning’s classic work on God’s profound love and grace, The Ragamuffin Gospel. I’d known of the book for years, but it took dozens of recommendations before I bought and read it. Part of me wished I had done so earlier and part of me is grateful I encountered this beautiful book when I did. It is rare or me to read a book that makes me love Jesus and feel loved by Jesus more. This one did, page after page, relentlessly. It is magnificent in its simplicity and depth and honesty and gratefulness and worship. If you have not, please read it. Here are a election of the best quotes from it.

End quote.

Manning is heavily into gnosticism, specifically Contemplative Spirituality and prayer, which is grounded in the Eastern mysticism of the Roman Catholic Desert monks. Worse, Manning denies the penal substituionary death of Christ and thus along with that, the absolute, inflexible justice of God. But there's more.

As Lighthouse Trails Research says:

In Manning’s more recent book, Above All, he says: “[T]he god who exacts the last drop of blood from his Son so that his just anger, evoked by sin, may be appeased, is not the God revealed by and in Jesus Christ. And if he is not the God of Jesus, he does not exist (p. 58).” Manning actually took this idea, nearly word for word, from William Shannon, author of Silence of Fire. But Manning has made a habit of quoting Shannon. Ray Yungen elaborates:

[W]hen Manning quotes from (and even recommends in one interview) William Shannon’s book, Silence on Fire, one would expect to find a common ground somewhere between the two of them. Yet Silence on Fire contains nothing that would inspire a true evangelical. In fact, it is filled with universalist statements that would offend anyone with doctrinally-sound evangelical sensibilities. One portion states, “[T]here is a oneness in God that unites all women and men … The goal of all true spirituality is to achieve an awareness of our oneness with God and with all of God’s creation.”

Alan Jones, whom Manning also repeatedly quotes, calls the doctrine of the Cross a vile doctrine. This rejection of the biblical view of the Cross by Jones and Shannon is similar to that of Brian McLaren who says the doctrine of the Cross and Hell are “false advertising for God.” End quote.

A more anti-doctrines of grace (TULIP and the 5 Solas) you can't find. Mysticism is at the heart, anti-Scripture alone. It does find common ground with the unholy Charismatic movement, though. And that would make sense, considering John Piper's charismaticism himself. When one commits the sin of Adam and Eve by not trusting in God's character and Word but rather, goes outside of His Word to find "knowledge", that is to say, when Scripture isn't enough, people will absolutely fall into error and in many cases, grievous error. Charismaticism (which John Piper holds to) denies the sole sufficiency of Scripture and instead looks to experiences and feelings as if those indicate truth or spirituality. It is nothing less than gnosticism.

As Ken Silva said: As yet another example of the grave danger of spiritual deception for those who persist in CSM’s rebellion against the final authority of God’s Word in favor of personal, highly subjective “experience,” in Reflections for Ragamuffins (RfR) by Brennan Manning the daily devotion for May 8 is based on his lovely lament concerning Isaiah 53. O but of course, first using a methodology so often employed by the Emergent Church, he begins by taking a shot at those of us who adhere to Sola Scriptura as he whines about “how difficult it is to receive anyone who has all the answers.” End quote.
Silva goes on to say:

This next part you really have to read for yourself to believe just how exactly backward Manning’s semi-pelagian ear-tickling centered on the self message actually is:
So Jesus comes in the way of weakness, giving us the chance to love him and making us feel that we have something to give him. Isaiah prophesied that he would be “like a lamb led to the slaughter or a sheep before the shearers”(53:7 NAB). Jesus, who understands the human heart, allowed the image of a dumb, helpless animal to be applied to himself. (129)
Because the level of Biblical discernment today is so low this is the kind of trite, pious-sounding, and people-pleasing pabulum that has even begun affecting mainstream evangelicalism in the Chuck Swindolls, the David Jeremiahs, and the Charles Stanleys (the SBC is fine shape). Popular evangelicals like Max Lucado and Philip Yancey long ago succumbed. Lucado writes of Manning that “he does a masterful job of blowing the dust off shop-worn theology” [means: the stuff I don’t like] and Yancey says, “I consider Brennan Manning my spiritual director in the school of grace.” And SBC minister Dallas Willard, who is the Spiritual Formation friend of the aforementioned Foster, tells us that Manning “throws firebrands into your soul and makes you wonder why you are not living stripped, standing in the arctic ‘Sonshine’ of God’s love” (back cover).
O please; it becomes obvious that these men are reading the Bible and then still thinking only as men think. Yes, Jesus came to give man the chance to love Him alright but the Bible is painfully clear in that He was roundly rejected. Christ came “making us feel that we have something to give him”? And what pray tell would we give to Him Mr. Manning; filthy rags? You should have read a little further on in Isaiah — All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags (64:6). The Bible teaches very clearly that mankind was helpless on his own to do anything to please God — when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly (Romans 5:6).
The terrible truth is that we have absolutely nothing at all to give God that is even remotely worthy of His incredible gift. Here’s the issue, Manning is mangling the metphor of Isaiah 53 and taking it well beyond its intended meaning. Uh-oh; I just inferred that I know what this passage of Scripture means. What a serious faux pas I have commited because my Emergent “brothers” would tell me I simply can’t know for sure what Isaiah 53 means. Because you see, those who say to us it’s humble to admit we don’t know for sure are in turn *ahem* sure that they themselves in fact know I’m wrong to be…um, sure. Ah Alice, what color is the sky out there in Wonderland? But as has been pointed out well elsewhere:
Metaphors are often used in Scripture to help the reader understand an abstract concept that might otherwise be lost or to emphasize a particular element. It is dangerous, if not completely off-base, to motivate a position using an element of a metaphor that is not supported or called out by the context. Jesus is the Lamb of God, like a sheep lead to the slaughter… The imagery is that of a blameless sacrifice who willingly, and without protest (see Isa. 5:5), takes upon Himself the wrath of a Just and Holy God in our place.
The context simply does not support the proposition that Jesus wants to be viewed as a “dumb, helpless animal” or did so for the purpose of giving us a “chance to love him.” Manning uses a novel and unsupported interpretation of the metaphor to develop a point he wants the reader to accept. In addition, Manning is a master at building an ambiguous straw man argument on the basis of feelings the reader might have, especially those of inadequacy. The fact that the reader can identify or relate to a particular story becomes the support for the proposition espoused. The methodology appeals to the reader’s experience rather than the truth contained in God’s Word.
Sola Scriptura; Sola Christus!
But therein lies the very grave spiritual danger in following these pied pipers of the postevangelical and Emergent Church rebellion against the authority of the Bible. These fools (look it up in the Bible) have elevated their own corrupt and fallen human reasoning above the text of the Word of God. In simpler terms, these people with their neo-Gnostic mysticism-lite are interpreting the text of Scripture by how they “feel” about it rather than going by what the text clearly says. And it’s a hallmark of the neo-orthodox approach to the Bible. Ever notice how many Emerging Church leaders praise Karl Barth?

How is it that Barnabas Piper finds such a heretic like Manning leading him to love Jesus more? The answer is that he's not loving the biblical Jesus. He's not even hearing His voice.

2Jn 1:9  Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.
2Jn 1:10  If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting;
2Jn 1:11  for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.

Joh 10:4  "When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.
Joh 10:5  "A stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers."

Joh 10:14  "I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me

Health Benefits of Marriage Skewed By NYT Psychologist, Says Harvard Professor of Epidemiology in the Departments of Epidemiology and Biostatistics

In her New York Times piece, psychologist Bella DePaulo uses a new study out of Switzerland17to argue that the effects of marriage on health are, in reality, negligible. A closer examination of the Switzerland study, however, indicates that DePaulo did not tell the full story about the Swiss research. Actually, the study begins by reporting that entry into marriage for unmarried men and women is associated with subsequently lower depression, while divorce is associated with subsequently higher depression....
But self-rated health is not necessarily synonymous with health itself. If one examines more objective measures studied elsewhere in the research literature, marriage is in fact protectively associated with more objective health measures.5,6,11,13,14,16,18 In my own research at Harvard University, in a paper using data from the Nurses’ Health Study that followed over 74,000 participants for over 16 years, marriage was associated with 14% lower mortality during the following 16 years (see Supplement eTable 12 of my study),18  even after controlling for numerous social, demographic, and baseline health variables (see figure below). While the study focused on religious service attendance, it also examined marriage. Although the effect of marriage is not huge, it is protective, and similar effects on mortality have been reported elsewhere.5,6,13,14

Let us remember that marriage is defined by God as between one man and one woman according to Scripture. Since He created marriage (indeed, all things), God's definition stands.
