Lies People Tell Themselves: God can handle your anger, so it's ok to be angry with Him

"He can handle your panic, your fear, your anger, even your crisis of faith. Your exposed grief doesn't repulse him. Your questions don't intimidate him. Your humanity doesn't threaten him. In fact, it can be the very thing that keeps you tethered to him because it helps us to see our desperate need for him.

So when Carrie told CBS she was angry with God and it was broadcast for the world to see, she gave permission for others to be real with God, too. Ultimately we don't need "permission"—Jesus has already made a way for us to approach God as we are—but sometimes it helps to be issued an invitation to be our whole selves. In front of a worldwide audience Carrie did just that. Through being open about her experiences, she helped others to see that their grief experience is valid and that it doesn't have to be the undoing of their faith."
Except for one thing: anger at God is sin and blasphemy. It attacks the very nature of God Himself and it elevates man to a level of deserving something better. It attacks His good will towards those truly saved, and it attacks His justice towards those in rebellion against Him (while at the same time He's extending His mercy b/c he allows them to live and have many blessings anyway). It is to be unjust toward a just God. It is to judge The Judge and no man is in the position to DARE judge Him and HIS will.God is offended at anger towards Him, contrary to these women who say otherwise. It's not a matter of if He can "handle" it. It's a matter of charging sin against His nature. And sin does not "tether us" closer to Him. It gets in the way of fellowshipping with Him for the true Christian and it heaps on more wrath for those outside of Christ (the true Christian must and will repent of the sin of anger towards God). God doesn't ask you to sin against Him more by sanitizing it as "being real". What you need is to confess your sin of unrighteous anger against Him (there is no other kind of anger against Him--it's all wholly unjust) and fall before Him in humble submission to His good will and cry out to Him for forgiveness and help to correctly think through a tragedy. This is the biblical pattern in Scripture.
Jas 1:19 This you know, my beloved brethren. But let everyone be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.

Many Are Willing For Christ To Be Priest But Not As King

Again; many are willing for Christ to officiate as their Priest, but not for Him to legislate as their King. Ask them, in a general way, if they are ready to do whatsoever Christ requires of them, and they will answer in the affirmative, emphatically and with confidence. But come to particulars: apply to each one of them those specific commandments and precepts of the Lord which they are ignoring, and they will at once cry out "Legalism"! or, "We cannot be perfect in everything." Name nine duties and perhaps they are performing them, but mention a tenth and it at once makes them angry, for you have come too close home to their case. Herod heard John gladly and did "many things" (Mark 6:20), but when he referred to Herodias, he touched him to the quick. Many are willing to give up their theatre-going, and card-parties, who refuse to go forth unto Christ outside the camp. Others are willing to go outside the camp, yet refuse to deny their fleshly and worldly lusts. Reader, if there is a reserve in your obedience, you are on the way to Hell. ~AW Pink on "Saving Faith"

I hear "who's perfect?" or "Legalism" charged to me when holding Evangelicals to the standard of Scripture. This is true especially when it comes to the Reformed circles and their leaders. This is why, when men who believe themselves to be teachers of the foolish, experts in the Bible, leaders of the churches, they deny the King's commands as absolute truth and must be obeyed, are actually in traitorous rebellion against the King of kings and Lord of lords. They teach HIS doctrine as opinions of men that can be "agreed to disagree" upon. Legalism is Phariseeism and it is liberalism. That is to say that "legalism" isn't holding to Scripture but holding to men's doctrines as if they are doctrines of Christ. The Pharisees were not holding to the Scriptures; they were holding to made up traditions and opinions of men. They neglected Scripture's precise judgments on all matters (remember Christ's teaching that if you lust in your heart you are a lawbreaker for you've committed adultery? Same with anger and murder). Legalism is holding to man's opinions. Obedience and love is holding to Scripture and Scripture is precise. So when these celebrity teachers deny a believer's immersion called "baptism" and instead are open to or practice the Roman Catholic dogma of infant sprinkling, they are not bowing to KING Jesus. They are in rebellion. When they greet or share the platform with false teachers, they are in rebellion ( 2John 9-11). When they refuse to call a false teacher as such, they are disobeying Scripture (Rom. 16:17). When they say that a Christian can be a "celibate" homosexual, they lie against Scripture and deny the origin of sodomy (Rom. 1). When the sound doctrine of a six literal day Creation is considered an opinion or personal preference or worse, they disbelieve it, they refuse to bow to the heart and mind to King Jesus. And rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft. Think about that.

Friel Says Warren Isn't A False Teacher

2Co 11:4  For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully.

Todd Friel says that Rick Warren isn't a heretic (start at time mark 6:40). Why, he talks about the atonement, etc, right? Checks all the marks? But Warren indeed is a false teacher.

Jud 1:4  For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Jud 1:11  Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, and for pay they have rushed headlong into the error of Balaam, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.
Jud 1:12  These men are those who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted;
Jud 1:13  wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever.

2Pe 2:1  But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.
2Pe 2:2  And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned;
2Pe 2:3  and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

Eph 5:6  Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
Eph 5:7  Therefore do not be partakers with them;

False teachers are disguised which is how they come in or are raised up "among you". They aren't blatant, they are sneaky, in order to deceived many. Friel is deceived and the enemy has been successful with him.

2Co 11:12  But what I am doing, I will continue to do, that I may cut off opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the matter about which they are boasting.
2Co 11:13  For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14  And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
2Co 11:15  Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their deeds.

Discernment is not only the ability by the Spirit and truly knowing and believing the Scriptures to know right from wrong, but more importantly, to discern right from almost right. That's where the most dangerous error lies.

Men like Friel, MacArthur, Phil Johnson, refuse to submit to the absolute and clear Word of God and identify Rick Warren as a false teacher. Doctrinal triage always leads to practice - triage. God calls it spiritual whoring.

Shouldn't we?

Confronting Evil Men And Deception

There is a time to confront evil men who place their human judgments above the Word of God. Fallen men do not have the right to judge the Word and tell others what it means to them; human opinions and expectations are not revelations from God....

The boldness necessary to confront the many enemies of God and resist their widely varied efforts to undermine and defy the work of Christ does not lie in the human strength of any of us. “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh” (2 Corinthians 10:3). The objective of this spiritual battle (Ephesians 6:12-18) is not to destroy the human instruments of the great Adversary but rather to bring their “thoughts” captive!
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)
The battle we fight is an intellectual one (2 Corinthians 11:3), just as the transformation we must make to our lifestyle starts in our minds (Romans 12:1-2). If we are to capture “every thought” as we fight against “principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12), then we must “rise up” in the confidence that “[we] are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

John MacArthur Partners With Rick Warren, Kay Warren, New Ager Roma Downey At NRB Christian Conference in 2019

There must be enough common ground with all these Evangelical leaders for them to agree to share the platform as "Christians" at the National Religious Broadcasters convention.

As a note to remember, Charles Stanley teaches Once Saved Always Saved, aka Easy Believism--the false gospel MacArthur rightly attacked in his books "The Gospel According to Jesus" and "The Gospel According to the Apostles". Also, Stanley promised his church to stand down from the pulpit if he ever got divorced, then years later his wife divorced him and he stayed in the pulpit. So a false gospel, sanctificationless Christianity, divorce (couldn't manage his own household well), and no integrity. This is a "Christian" conference?

More on Mark Burnnett and Roma Downey here and here and here. Roman Catholic, New Age mystics. This is "Christian"?

Rick and Kay Warren? This is "Christian"?

Joni Tada's serious problems are mentioned here.

**Please note that I do not endorse Servus Christi, but cannot fault what he said and the evidence he gave**

Truth Is An Entire Corpus or Unit

Teach all biblical doctrine, for all Truth is one unit, one body of Truth:

Mat 28:19  "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20  teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Mat 22:40  "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."

Jas 2:9  But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10  For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.

Act 3:21  whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.
Act 3:22  "Moses said, 'THE LORD GOD SHALL RAISE UP FOR YOU A PROPHET LIKE ME FROM YOUR BRETHREN; TO HIM YOU SHALL GIVE HEED in everything He says to you
Act 3:23  'And it shall be that every soul that does not heed that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.'

Act 5:19  But an angel of the Lord during the night opened the gates of the prison, and taking them out he said,
Act 5:20  "Go your way, stand and speak to the people in the temple the whole message of this Life."

Act 20:20  how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly and from house to house,
Act 20:21  solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Act 20:27  "For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God.

Tit 1:9  holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, that he may be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.

2Ti 3:16  All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17  that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

1Ti 4:13  Until I come, give attention to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation and teaching.

1Ti 6:12  Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Jud 1:3  Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

Listen To All That Jesus Christ the Beloved Son of God Says

Jas 1:23  For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; 24  for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. 25  But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man shall be blessed in what he does.

It seems more and more Evangelicals, including Calvinists, are advocating a hyper-Dispensational view of Scripture via their doctrinal triage. I've even seen them go so far as to chop up the "essentials" and "non-essentials" (aka bare minimum one "needs to know") about Christ Himself. This is exactly what the hyper-Dispensationalists do, to the point of dividing Christ and His Words before the Cross (to the Jews only), and after (to the Gentiles only), thus dividing the N.T. into parts only for Jewish believers or Gentile believers. Divorcing Christ and the Word is unbelief in the corpus of Truth and is the height of arrogance to sit in judgment of what one thinks others "need" to know or don't need to know. It is to be in unison the ancient Serpent in the Garden, the great deceiver, when he attacked God and His Word by asking Eve "Did God really say?"

Consider that Christ and all the doctrines pertaining to His Person and work, along with all His commands and doctrines He has given throughout Scripture (including Revelation which necessarily includes the sound doctrine of eschatology and ecclesiology), are united. They cannot be separated for God has joined them. To try to divorce them is to be at war with God and is not from the Spirit of Truth, but rather the spirit of error--that of the Pharisees.

Those in Christ will hear the Master's voice throughout all of Scripture, including the apostolic doctrines.

Mat 17:5  While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!"

Mat 28:18  And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Mat 28:19  "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20  teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Mat 10:27  "What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops.

Mat 10:40  "He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.

1Jn 4:6  We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

Jn 1:6  And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.
2Jn 1:7  For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.
2Jn 1:8  Watch yourselves, that you might not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward.
2Jn 1:9  Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.
2Jn 1:10  If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting;
2Jn 1:11  for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.

1Ti 6:2  And let those who have believers as their masters not be disrespectful to them because they are brethren, but let them serve them all the more, because those who partake of the benefit are believers and beloved. Teach and preach these principles.
1Ti 6:3  If anyone advocates a different doctrine, and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness,
1Ti 6:4  he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions,
1Ti 6:5  and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain.

What is the last thing Jesus commanded the apostles to do just before His ascension? Make disciples, baptize them, and teach them ALL He commanded. As Jesus continued to give His final words and commands in the rest of Scripture, we have the completed doctrine of Christ by the end of the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

Consider that people who deny a believer's baptism is in traitorous rebellion against the King who commanded a believer's baptism. A Roman Catholic infant sprinkling, which is the same as the Calvinist/Presbyterian "baptism" is NOT according to the command of Jesus. It is to hold to traditions of men, while sitting aside the doctrine of Christ (Matt. 15:1-9).

Mat 15:3  And He answered and said to them, "And why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?

Mat 15:7  "You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
Mat 15:8  'THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME.
Mat 15:9  'BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.'"

Moreover, it is to put oneself under the yoke and bondage of men and their laws and traditions, contrary to Scripture:

Gal 4:3  So also we, while we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental things of the world.
Gal 4:4  But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,
Gal 4:5  in order that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
Gal 4:6  And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!"
Gal 4:7  Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.
Gal 4:8  However at that time, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those which by nature are no gods.
Gal 4:9  But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how is it that you turn back again to the weak and worthless elemental things, to which you desire to be enslaved all over again?

Other doctrines Christ taught was about His kingdom rule as Messiah, eschatology, ecclesiology, Creation, marriage, divorce, loyalty to Him alone, faithfulness to walk in Truth, source of truth vs error, gender roles, etc. If we're in Him, we will received and continue to abide in all His doctrines, not divorce them and treat them so lightly (which is how blasphemy is defined) as if a strange thing (Hosea 8:12).

This is important because we're to walk in the Truth:

1Jn 1:6  If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;7  but if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

2Jn 1:6  And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments.
2Jn 1:10  If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting;
2Jn 1:11  for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.

3Jn 1:3  For I was very glad when brethren came and bore witness to your truth, that is, how you are walking in truth. 4  I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.

Joh 17:17  "Sanctify them in the truth; Thy word is truth.

Psa 1:1  How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
Psa 1:2  But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.
Psa 1:3  And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season, And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.

Psa 86:11  Teach me Thy way, O LORD; I will walk in Thy truth; Unite my heart to fear Thy name.

Unity & Division

Men try to unify what Jesus divides:

Unbelievers from believers
in families
in churches
in agendas and endeavors

And men try to separate what God has joined:

doctrines to each other
doctrines to God
doctrines to demons
sin to man
husband and wife
believer from Christ
