~John MacArthur
Salvation of a person is first and foremost to be a
display of God's power and work in His enemy's life; an eternal trophy of God's
power, will, purpose, grace, mercy and glory.
Eph 1:11 also we have obtained an inheritance, having
been predestined according to
His purpose who works all things after the
counsel of His will,12 to the end that
we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory.
Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the
gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
1Co 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not
prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with
me.
Gal 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the
flesh. 17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for
these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.
Col 1:4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have for
all the saints; 5 because of the hope laid up for you in heaven, of which you previously heard
in the word of truth, the gospel :6 which has come to you, just as in all the world also it
is constantly bearing fruit and increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since
the day you heard of it and understood the grace of God in truth;
Col 1:9 For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you
and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and
understanding, 10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please
Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the
knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all power, according to His glorious
might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously 12 giving thanks to the
Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.
2Tim 2:19 Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, "The Lord knowsthose who are His," and, "Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness."
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 12instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age,
