More Reasons Why Beth Moore Is A Dangerous False Teacher

Here are more reasons why Beth Moore is a false teacher and a danger to Christianity, mainly the women who read her books, go to her conferences, and listen to her on t.v.

Here, Ken Silva reports on Beth More praising a mystic and Contemplative prayer. In that dvd she states:

You know, one of the things that time gives us is that it erases the lines in between people so many different sections of the people of God. Because many years later it doesn’t matter any longer that this person was of this practice in the Christian faith and this person of another.
Time somehow blurs those lines and we are profoundly moved by the historical narratives of all their lives, of so great a cloud of witnesses; that we can look back on and see what kept them running the race, what kept them running toward the face of Christ at the end of that finish line.
[Red bold, my emphasis]
God doesn't blur the lines, ever. His holy standard has never changed, from the Old Testament to the New Testament.  He did not accept the strange fire, nor what Uzzah did in touching the Ark to keep it from falling to the ground....he had used the pagan way of moving it and thus God struck him dead. HE will not be trifled with. Salvation and worship are HIS way or no way (damnation).
2Co 6:14  Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?
2Co 6:15  Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?
2Co 6:16  Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, "I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.
2Co 6:17  "Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE," says the Lord. "AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; And I will welcome you.
2Co 6:18  "And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me," Says the Lord Almighty.
See below where I demonstrate Rome's atrocious error.

She also endorses "Jesus Calling", a book by Sarah Young  who claims Jesus speaks about Himself through her, but its clear its not the Jesus of Scripture.

In addition here's a video where Moore shows more inter-faith--embracing Roman Catholics as Christians.  Roman Catholics aren't Christian if they are holding to the RCC's teaching on Mary, tradition, the eucharist, the mass, justification, salvation, purgatory, and praying to the dead.  Instead of telling them the biblical Gospel, she approves of their false religion and thus is hating their souls while claiming as a Christian leader, to love them. Again, 2Co. 6:14-18 applies here as well.
It is the RCC that teaches the following (taken from the Vatican's Catholic Catechism, the teachings of the church that all true Catholics are to believe):

RCC Catechism #846…the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation... RCC # 846 Hence they COULD NOT be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.

Scripture however states: 1Jo 5:12  Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
Eph 2:8  For  BY GRACE you have been saved through faith. And this is  NOT your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9   NOT A RESULT OF WORKS, so that no one may boast.

RCC Catechism #460  "For the Son of God became man so that we might become God."80 "The only-begotten Son of God, wanting to make us sharers in his divinity, assumed our nature, so that he, made man, might make men gods."
RCC Cat. #487 What the Catholic faith believes about Mary is based on what it believes about Christ, and what it teaches about Mary illumines in turn its faith in Christ.

Ask yourself what the RCC teaches and believes about Jesus....

Scripture states:
Isa 45:5  I am the LORD, and there is no other, besides me there is no God

Isa 48:11  For my own sake, for my own sake, I do it, for how should my name be profaned? My
glory I will not give to another.

The Catholic Church rejects nothing that is true and holy in these religions [Hinduism, Buddism]… The Church regards with esteem also the Moslems. They adore the one God, living and subsisting in Himself, merciful and all-powerful, the Creator of heaven and earth,-- Rome’s Nostra Aetate given in Oct. 1965 by “Pope” Paul 6th
RCC# 2146 The second commandment forbids the abuse of God's name, i.e., every improper use of the names of God, Jesus Christ, but also of the Virgin Mary and all the saints.

RCC# 2162 The second commandment forbids every improper use of God's name. Blasphemy is the use of the name of God, of Jesus Christ, of the Virgin Mary, and of the saints in an offensive way.

Yet Scripture states clearly its ONLY God's name that is not to be taken in vain for HIS NAME
ALONE is holy, not Mary's nor anyone elses. This is utter blaspheme against God in the very
passage about NOT COMMITTING IDOLATRY:

Exo 20:7  "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not
hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain. [It’s the fourth command]

Jude 1:25  to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty,
dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

Phi 2:9  Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the NAME  that
is ABOVE every name, 10  so that at NAME OF JESUS every knee should bow, in heaven
and on earth and under the earth,

Act 4:11  "He is the STONE WHICH WAS REJECTED by you, THE BUILDERS, but WHICH
BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone. 12  "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no
other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be
saved."

RCC 1992…Justification is conferred in Baptism, the sacrament of faith. It conforms us to the righteousness of God, who makes us inwardly just by the power of his mercy.    Its purpose is the glory of God and of Christ, and the gift of eternal life

Scripture states:

Mat 28:19  "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and
the Son and the Holy Spirit,

Eph 2:8  For  BY GRACE you have been saved through faith. And this is  NOT your own doing; it
is the gift of God, 9   NOT A RESULT OF WORKS, so that no one may boast.

2Tim 1:9  who saved us and called us to a holy calling,  NOT BECAUSE OF OUR WORKS but
because of His own purpose and grace, which He gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,

RCC # 2027 we can merit for ourselves and for others all the graces needed to attain eternal life, as
well as necessary temporal goods.

Scripture states: Rom 11:6  But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise
grace would no longer be grace.

2Jn 1:9  Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not
have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. 10  If
anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your
house, and do not give him a greeting; 11  for the one who gives him a greeting
participates in his evil deeds.

Act 20:29  "I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not
sparing the flock; 30  and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse
things, to draw away the disciples after them.31  "Therefore be on the alert, remembering
that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one
with tears.

The Lordship of Christ In Salvation

There are many who are willing for Christ to save them from Hell, but are not willing for Him to save them from self. They want to be delivered from the wrath to come, but they wish to retain their self-will and self-pleasing. But He will not be dictated unto: you must be saved on His terms, or not at all. When Christ saves, He saves from sin—from its power and pollution, and therefore from its guilt. And the very essence of sin is the determination to have my own way (Isa. 53:6). Where Christ saves, He subdues the spirit of self-will, and implants a genuine, a powerful, a lasting desire and determination to please Him. ~ AW Pink

The Deity and Lordship of Jesus Proclaimed At His Birth

Luke 2:11  for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

But in this usage it's way beyond that. When it says this is the Savior who is Christ the Lord, you'll notice and it will be true every time it's used in the Bible to speak of Jesus Christ or of God, it's a capital "L". You're not seeing it here as some human designation, you're seeing this as a divine designation. To say that this child is Lord, listen very carefully, is to say that this child is God. Lord is intended to imply in the Greek all that is implied by the Hebrew word Yahweh, the tetragrammaton, the Hebrew name for God. To say that Jesus is Lord is to say that Jesus is God first and foremost. And let me say this as clearly and simply as I can and you need to remember this, the most fundamental and basic confession of Christianity is this, Jesus is Lord. That is the most fundamental and basic confession of the Christian faith. Without that you don't have Christianity.

Again I say, the most fundamental and basic confession of the Christian faith is a three-word statement, Jesus is Lord, with all that Lord means.

And, you know, there's so many people out there who really don't get it. There are Christian people who when they hear people talk about grace and talk about faith and we love Jesus and Jesus is our Savior and He died for us, they don't understand the subtleties of what's going on. Those cults obviously masquerading as Christian are not Christian, they are satanic counterfeits because no matter what they affirm they deny that Jesus is Lord. And that, again I say, is the most fundamental and basic confession of the Christian faith. If you want to be saved,Romans 10:9 says, you must confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. That is unequivocal.
What does it mean? It means to say that Jesus is God and all that that implies. And if you're God, that implies sovereignty and authority.
Kurios means supreme power with authority with legitimacy. It is a word that expresses an authority that is valid, lawful and legitimate. And kurios is used here. Jesus is legitimately, validly Lord. He is Lord lawfully. He is Lord legally. He is Lord by virtue of nature who He is. So the root idea of kurios is legitimate sovereignty, legitimate authority. And, of course, the ultimate legitimate authority in the universe is God.

Does God Really "Hate the Sin, but Love The Sinner"?

One of the most popular beliefs of the day is that God loves everybody, and the very fact that it is so popular with all classes ought to be enough to arouse the suspicions of those who are subject to the Word of Truth. God’s Love toward all His creatures is the fundamental and favorite tenet of Universalists, Unitarians, Theosophists, Christian Scientists, Spiritualists, Russellites, etc. No matter how a man may live—in open defiance of Heaven, with no concern whatever for his soul’s eternal interests, still less for God’s glory, dying, perhaps with an oath on his lips,—notwithstanding, God loves him, we are told. So widely has this dogma been proclaimed, and so comforting is it to the heart which is at enmity with God, we have little hope of convincing many of their error. That God loves everybody, is, we may say, quite a modern belief. The writings of the church-fathers, the Reformers or the Puritans will (we believe) be searched in vain for any such concept. Perhaps the late D. L. Moody—captivated by Drummond’s "The Greatest Thing in the World"—did more than anyone else last century to popularize this concept.

It has been customary to say God loves the sinner, though He hates his sin. But that is a meaningless distinction. What is there in a sinner but sin? Is it not true that his "whole head is sick", and his "whole heart faint", and that "from the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness" in him? (Isa. 1:5,6). Is it true that God loves the one who is despising and rejecting His blessed Son? God is Light as well as Love, and therefore His love must be a holy love. To tell the Christ-rejector that God loves him is to cauterize his conscience, as well as to afford him a sense of security in his sins. The fact is, that the love of God, is a truth for the saints only, and to present it to the enemies of God is to take the children’s bread and cast it to the dogs. With the exception of John 3:16, not once in the four Gospels do we read of the Lord Jesus—the perfect Teacher— telling sinners that God loved them! In the book of Acts, which records the evangelistic labors and messages of the apostles, God’s love is never referred to at all! But, when we come to the Epistles, which are addressed to the saints, we have a full presentation of this precious truth—God’s love for His own. Let us seek to rightly divide the Word of God and then we shall not be found taking truths which are addressed to believers and misapplying them to unbelievers. That which sinners need to have brought before them is, the ineffable holiness, the exacting righteousness, the inflexible justice and the terrible wrath of God. Risking the danger of being mis-understood, let us say—and we wish we could say it to every evangelist and preacher in the country—there is far too much presenting of Christ to sinners today (by those sound in the faith), and far too little showing sinners their need of Christ, i.e., their absolutely ruined and lost condition, their imminent and awful danger of suffering the wrath to come, the fearful guilt resting upon them in the sight of God—to present Christ to those who have never been shown their need of Him, seems to us to be guilty of casting pearls before swine.

~ A.W. Pink, Chapter 11"Difficulties and Objections" from "The Sovereignty of God"

Don't Tell The Christ Rejecter That God Loves Him

To tell the Christ-rejecter that God loves him is to cauterize his conscience as well as to afford him a sense of security in his sins. The fact is, the love of God is a truth for the saints only, and to present it to the enemies of God is to take the children's bread and to cast it to the dogs. ~ A.W. Pink

SBC Takes A Stand

The SBC's publishing arm, Lifeway Boods, is discontinuing the Holman Pink Bible, from which a portion of the proceeds went to Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer research. They give money to Planned Parenthood. (Source)

That was a good decision.

James and Betty Robinson Promote Romanism

Ken Silva reports that Charismatic leader James Robinson promotes Roman Catholicism.

Regurgiation aka The Resurgence

Regurgitation. Well its really called Resurgence, but its regurgitating the flesh. Its Driscoll's baby, and Perry Noble's one of the contributors.  That would be the ignoble Noble who cusses at people, hates to visit his sheep in the hospital, doesn't want to be bothered knowing his sheep, and just generally is a dead man walking. And btw, he wants you to know how to lead like Jesus.

"Evangelicals" Inviting Mormons To Teach

It happened again. "Evangelical" churches seem to think its a godly thing to invite Mormons into their midst to teach them.

Seriously?

2Jn 1:10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, 11 for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.

Scripture is clear, we are not to even WELCOME a false teacher like a Mormon, into our midst, otherwise God will reckon US AS PARTICIPATING IN SUCH WICKEDNESS. That necessitates that any other religion other than Biblical Christianity is not to be tolerated in our churches or among our fellowship. Period. Its not "tolerance", its not "love", to allow a person to come in and proclaim the goodness of the LDS church or to dare use Scripture to motivate a crowd (choir and all) to follow him into this Mormonistic view of politics (politics that has Mormonism as the goal).

Now, John Hagee, who is a Pentecostal that is on TBN and shares the pulpit with Word of Faithers, is a false teacher himself and an illegitimate pastor to begin with, so of course he has no discernment nor love of the Truth. Inviting Mormon Glen Beck to his church was just another confirmation. You can see the video online--the church choir sat right behind him and Hagee in his purple suit sat next to him while he preached his pseudo-politcs/religion.

There is a local mega church in my area that did this last year. The Sunday (Saturday?) School was teaching about Mormonism (apologetics, I gather), and the teacher thought it was a good idea to invite a Mormon to the class to give her Mormon testimony.

WHAT?

That should have never happened.

What they failed to see is that the Mormon used that opportunity to extol the "love" and acceptance of the cult church and at the same time complain and put down all other churches that denied help to her. She had gone from church to church seeking help. The cult of the LDS saw a golden opportunity to fulfill her "need" and thus reel her into their fold and now she sings their praises.

Except they are damned and going to Hell.

There are other issues at hand of course; what was the "need", and why was she going from church to church until she found one that said yes to her? She left that "Evangelical" church having insulted all other churches but the LDS. This is utterly shameful that she got her foot in the door and was able to promote her cult and put down all other churches at the same time.

Ecclessiology and evangelism are also issues at play here, but I don't want to get into that now. All I can say is, the Mormons know how to get inside churches now, whether its by use of politics or by some other means.

Satan isn't stupid. He knows how to get his wolves into the flock of God to start a war.

He got himself invited by the shepherds.

Evil

"We can not allow fear to push us into conformity to evil, complacency about evil, or cowardice toward standing against evil. Courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to stand and act even in the presence of fear. You see, indifference to evil is more evil than the original evil action."

Friendship Evangelism

Worth re-posting.

The notion (and that's all it is) that Christians have to establish long-term relationships with people in order to "earn the right" to share the gospel with them; the notion that we should let people see the gospel in us and thus making the verbal proclamation of the gospel unnecessary; the notion that "relating to people" (as it is most often taught and practiced by American Christians) is somehow a prerequisite for sharing the gospel has no Scriptural support. None. And any effort to draw such inferences from the text of Scripture is an eisegetical exercise that might make Christians feel better about their evangelistic disobedience, and might make pastors and their ministries more popular, but, in the end, will only prove to be a disservice to the Scriptures, Christians, and the countless number of lost souls who aren't reached by believers who practice such philosophies of ministry. ~Tony Miano

Professing Christians

‎"I do fear much for many professing Christians: I see no sign of fighting in them,

much less of victory; they never strike one stroke on the side of Christ.

They are at peace with His enemies: they have no quarrel with sin.

Reader, I warn you this is not Christianity: this is not the way to heaven."

Secular Company Buys Thomas Nelson

Excerpts from WND, as Jim Fletcher reported:

Quote:

With news that HarperCollins Publishers has purchased Thomas Nelson – the biggest Christianpublishingcompanyin the world – we see the biggest assault yet on the Christian industry.

Harper, which ownsZondervan, a major competitor to Nelson, is adopting the strategy that began in the '90s: We won't join Christian publishing, so we'll beat it.

It doesn't take a shuttle scientist to see that once a Christian company becomes the property of a secular company, the Christian entity is no longer independent. There used to be a few independent publishers out there, and no one compromised their messages, and no one told them to steer clear of certain conservative authors.

I remember once bringing all this up at dinner with some publishing friends; we were at the big summer Christiantradeshow, sponsored by the Christian Booksellers Association.

I said something that sounds off-the-wall to anyone but a Bible-believer. I said that if we were indeed living in the last days (someone else had brought it up), then we should be able to track compromise in Christian publishing. In other words, if the writings of Paul and the other apostles are true, we would arrive at a time when people would not put up with sound doctrine.

End quote.

I've thought the same thing--the "Christian" (really, the right word is Religious, because almost all of them sell Roman Catholic books and trinkets, along with anti-Trinitarian (aka Modalist) authors), bookstores are the barometer of "Evangelical Christianity". Its pathetic.

Do You Wonder How Far You Can God In Worldly Conformity?

It does not matter what you may think of it,
but I am certain that grace is at a low ebb in your soul
when you even raise the question of how far you may go in worldly conformity.

~C.H. Spurgeon

The Truth

Many Christians believe "truth is somewhere in the middle". They have fallen for the lie that there is "truth in

everything". I believe that the Truth is not in the middle, because it cannot contain error and still be true.

The Truth is to the right of the middle. "No lie is of the truth" Scripture states.

Nanny State Schools: Now Serving DINNER At School!

D.C. joins 13 states which serve three meals a day at school – and to the tune of $5.7 million. Officials here have embraced the program because they realize healthy, well-fed kids learn better.

“We're reaching 10,000 kids a day at 99 of our 120 schools," said Anthony Tata, Chief Operating Officer of D.C. Public Schools.

That's about 25 percent of the student population. And another big benefit of the after school dinners are that more kids are enrolling in after school programs where they can get some academic help as well.

So the dinners are really serving three purposes - fighting hunger, obesity and offering help with classwork too.

And the best news of all is this is a federally-funded program.

End quote.

Source: Audrey BarnesFOX 5 Reporter My Fox DC

That's the BEST news of all? That I'M paying for them? From womb to the tomb, parents want the government to raise their kids and indoctrinate them with a horrific worldview. This isn't for "health" reasons at all. Its to grow the government's power and control over the next generation and parents are willing to do it.

Does anyone know of a couple who woul go out and buy a puppy and then put it in a kennel for several hours a day, five days a week? Nope. And if they did, I would think someone would call the Animal Control department. But hey, they can do that with their babies and young kids...what they'd NEVER do with a dog! Evolution at its finest.

Scripture instructs Christian parents to love, discipline, and teach their children. When children are at school early enough for breakfast and late enough for dinner, plus all the hours in between, they ARE abdicating their biblical responsibility (I might add that even unbelievers used to understand many of these concepts like mom staying home, discipline and respect taught in the home, personal responsibility, consequences, etc.):

Psa 34:11 Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

Deu 4:10 "Remember the day you stood before the LORD your God at Horeb, when the LORD said to me, 'Assemble the people to Me, that I may let them hear My words so they may learn to fear Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children.'

Pro 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.

2Ti 3:15 and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Pro 22:15 Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of discipline will remove it far from him.

Pro 23:13 Do not hold back discipline from the child, Although you strike him with the rod, he will not die.

Pro 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom, But a child who gets his own way brings shame to his mother.
Pro 29:16 When the wicked increase, transgression increases; But the righteous will see their fall.
Pro 29:17 Correct your son, and he will give you comfort; He will also delight your soul.

1Sa 3:12 "In that day I will carry out against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end.
1Sa 3:13 "For I have told him that I am about to judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knew, because his sons brought a curse on themselves and he did not rebuke them.
1Sa 3:14 "Therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever."

Heb 12:7 It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline?
Heb 12:8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.
Heb 12:9 Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?
Heb 12:10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness.

Eph 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
Eph 6:2 HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER (which is the first commandment with a promise),
Eph 6:3 SO THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU, AND THAT YOU MAY LIVE LONG ON THE EARTH.
Eph 6:4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Col 3:20 Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord.
Col 3:21 Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart.

Twilight Obssessed

2Co 11:2 For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin.
2Co 11:3 But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.
2Co 11:4 For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully.

Danger! It matters what you read--and see!

Excerpts from Berit Kjos's article on the Twilight phenom:

Quote:

Fantasy and imagination can transform beliefs and values more quickly than reality. Many of our readers defend their love for occult entertainment with this standard justification: "I know the difference between reality and fantasy." But it doesn't matter! Know it or not, persuasive fiction and virtual experience can change minds and plant lasting memories more effectively than actual experience!

God tells us to "abhor what is evil" and "cling to what is good." (Romans 12:9) When today's youth love the emotional thrills of popular occultism, they are desensitizing their hearts and minds to its evil. They are turning God's truth upside down. And they -- with a little help from the marketing industry -- are already turning America's values upside down. It all fits the plans of our globalist leaders and that old serpent in Genesis.

"You can only have a new society," wrote Marilyn Ferguson in The Aquarian Conspiracy, "if you change the education of the younger generation."[5] That process demands that people reject God's wise boundaries and "abhor" what He calls good. That change is well under way![6]

"You love evil more than good...." Psalm 52:3

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness.... Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!" Isaiah 5:20-21

4. Twilight's feel-good occultism brings "cognitive dissonance." Committed Christians (in contrast to cultural Christians) face a form of mental and moral confusion when confronted with incompatible values. Since Twilight's worldview clashes with Biblical Truth, readers are forced to make a choice: Will they heed home-taught values or the tantalizing message in the books and movie?

Many choose compromise. This moral "dissonance" prompts Christians to modify their values in order to resolve the conflict. After all, they don't want to lose their friends or their group's approval. Yet the only way to God's victory is willingness to take a stand on Truth -- whatever the cost.

"...the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you, be watchful in all things..."" 2 Timothy 4:2-5

The consequence of compromise is a new belief system. "These books are so addictive -- kind of like drugs," wrote a visitor. "If they can captivate Christians who should know better, just think what they can do to non-Christian readers."

Redefining evil. Few Twilighters see their new passion as evil. After all, Edward is a relatively "good" vampire, isn't he? Though he lusts for Bella's blood, he restrains his craving. Other vampires (and some of the werewolves) in the saga are downright murderous, but he's a good guy! Isn't he? Besides, the story has spawned a noble mission.

According to an article titled "Twilight fan knows it's not just vampires who need blood," college freshman, Kayla Urban, is "obsessed with vampires." She is also a blood donor "fixated on a blood drive" in her county. To her, the blend of "vampire-loving Twilighters and the need for more blood donations seemed a logical match."[8] Hers is a noble mission, as are many collective service projects these days. It all depends on who sets the standards for right and wrong -- God or man! While God's standard is like an anchor in a storm, man's values shift with the winds. For--

"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9

Since the beginning, human nature sought alternatives to God and His guidelines. Spiritual deception gave rise to vast occult belief systems and unceasing manipulation by the forces of darkness. Thus pagan sacrifices -- a devastating corruption of God's perfect plan for His people -- became the norm in all parts of the inhabited world. These notes may help explain God's ban on "fellowship with... darkness...[and] idols," including blood-thirsty vampires.[9]

End Quote. More here.

Twilight's author Stephenie Meyer, a Mormon.

In an article at The Observer by Dan Glaister and Sarah Falconer, it says in part about Meyer:

Quote:

After nine rejections, her manuscript was noticed by an agent at Writers House in New York. From there it was a precipitous journey to book fairs, multi-million-dollar deals, a movie of Twilight, directed by Catherine Hardwicke and due out in December, and an obscure kind of celebrity. 'To be honest, I feel like I was guided through that process,' Meyer told an interviewer in 2005, after publication of Twilight.

The guide she was referring to was not her New York agent Jodi Reamer, or Elizabeth Eulberg, 'director of global publicity for Stephenie Meyer' at her US publisher Little, Brown. Rather, her guide is a more lofty being: Meyer is a Mormon and, while her books avoid direct mention of religion, her faith informs her work. Interviewed on amazon.com, she declared that the Book of Mormon was the book 'with the most significant impact on [her] life'. Accordingly, her books, in the words of one critic, are full of sexual tension but remain 'as decorous as Jane Austen'.

The intersection of vampirism and Mormonism has caused some comment among other members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 'Some Mormons, especially those who know me, are surprised by my choice of topics,' she told the Mormon arts and culture website motleyvision.com. '"Vampires?" they say, with a critical lilt to their voices. Then they add self-righteously, "I don't read those kinds of books." I hasten to explain to them that it's not like that. Unconsciously, I put a lot of my basic beliefs into the story. Free agency is a big theme, as is sacrifice ... Even after I explain all that, I still have LDS friends and extended family who look at me funny.'

More Mormon influences in Meyer's work, here. Excerpts:

Quote:

If the media cannot get the major facts of Meyer’s own story straight, it is not surprising that journalists have missed a good deal of the theological underpinnings of her work. When Mormon themes are mentioned at all, they are explicitly tied to sexual abstinence to the exclusion of all else. That is not to say that sexuality is not a hugely important element of Twilight, or indeed of all vampire fiction: vampirism is nearly always a literary stand-in for eroticism, and falling in love with a vampire is the pinnacle of forbidden fruit.6 But the media’s focus on the steamy but restrained sexuality of the Twilight series, equating “Mormonism” with the fact that Bella and Edward do not have intercourse until marriage, misses the richest connections between LDS theology and Meyer’s writing. At least the Atlanticrecognized this tendency and grieved it: in Caitlin Flanagan’s brilliant article about the Twilight saga’s commercial appeal, she noted that, although every reviewer had made mention of Meyer’s Mormonism, “none knows what to do with it, and certainly none can relate it to the novel.”7

Meyer has publicly declared the Book of Mormon to be the book that has made the most significant impact on her life. A careful reading of her fiction attests to the reality of this statement; it is not just window dressing or pious platitude. Meyer’s theology is impressionistic and not systematic, and it is always embedded within story—very much like in the Book of Mormon itself—yet it is clearly discernible.

One of the most important theological aspects of the Twilight series is its emphasis on what the Book of Mormon would term overcoming the “natural man” (Mosiah 3:19). This phrase crops up throughout LDS scripture as a reflection on sin and redemption.

Of course, the LDS and Book of Mormon have no idea who Jesus Christ of Scripture really is, nor about the sin nature or natural man and how to overcome it. LDS has a false Jesus that is NOT eternally God the Son, nor is their gospel that of Scripture and therefore LDS is utterly condemned by God (Gal. 1:7-9). Twilight "moms"--mothers who themselves are obsessed with Twilight to the point of neglecting their homes and wishing their husbands were vampires. (Also go here.)

"It's just so cool that I'm not the only 30+ mom and wife in love with fictional underage vampires and werewolves."

~Stephenie Meyer

Gal 1:6 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel;7 which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.

Gal 1:8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!
