Romney's Mormonism Matters

It matters to Romney, it matters to God, and it matters to Biblical Christians.

Beth Moore Reckless Teaching

Beth Moore doesn't handle the Word of God faithfully and skillfully. Here's more problems with her teaching.

By Apprising Ministries special correspondent Bob DeWaay
Beth Moore denies that she promotes approaches to prayer that have Eastern overtones. The issue arose from her participation on the Be Still DVD which has been critiqued on this site by Ingrid and then Brian Flynn. Brian and I viewed a segment of Beth Moore on that DVD. We found disconcerting her poor understanding of Exodus 33:7-11, the passage she uses as her proof text. In her discussion of Moses’ tent of meeting she proposes that each believer can have their own tent of meeting where they can go to have two way conversations with God.

Share the Wealth!

Exactly. If you demand socialism, then be prepared to give up what you worked hard for and hand it over to someone who didn't.

Do You Seek the Pleasures of the World or Seeking A Holy Life?

If I am seeking everything that can delight my senses

(William Law, "A Serious Call to a Devout and Holy Life")

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction--and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life--and only a few find it!" Matthew 7:13-14

If I am seeking everything that can delight my senses, and regale my appetites; spending my time and fortune in pleasures, in diversions, and worldly enjoyments--then how can it be said that I am working out my salvation with fear and trembling?

If there is nothing in my life and conversation that shows me to be different from the heathen; if I use the world, and worldly enjoyments, as the generality of people now do, and in all ages have done--then why should I think that I am among those few who are walking in the narrow way to Heaven?

Php 2:12  So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; 13  for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

Abortion Is Ok for 13,505 Babies Since That's Considered Less

1% of all abortions occur because of rape or incest, in the US.

The rape incest exception, being 1%, a small percentage, compared to the overall pic, seems to cause many to become apathetic to it. What is the 1% in numbers? The total numbe
r of abortions, daily in the US is 3,700. So 1% would be 37 murders of unborn children, daily. THIRTY-SEVEN CHILDREN PER DAY!

What if we took federal or state funds to buy weapons and ammo, walked down to our local elementary school, and shot and killed 37 children in their classroom. Biden, Romney, Ryan, and Obama, seem to believe this is okay.

Do YOU?

That 1% comes to 13,505 babies a year murdered and justified by "Christians" and 'Conservatives". Folks as I keep saying, this is NOT a pro-life stand! Either all abortion is wrong, or its all acceptable. Period.

Abortion Is a Matter of Opinion Says Anne Romney

“He could not have, on his conscience, creating human life for experimentation,” Romney said. “That’s when he came out saying he was pro life. I think we all have to understand this is an issue that is so tender and there are people on both sides of the issue, with very good conscience, coming with a different opinion.
~Anne Romney on "The View" (as reported by  ~Life Newsshowing how abortion/pro-life is merely a difference of OPINION, which is how most "Christians" view it also. That my friends is a FAR CRY from a conviction based on biblical truth.

This is the very root of the problem with "Christianity" today. Everything--all biblical doctrine and truth is merely a matter of opinion, therefore no one is obligated to believe it, but rather can dismiss it as optional. They put biblical doctrine into the category of "personal preference" of Rom. 14 instead of biblical doctrine and commands in Rom. 1-12,15-16 (even chapter 14 has commands, anyway).

God said murder is wrong in Ex. 20:13 and certainly isn't the only place He says this. So a little murder is "less evil" or "better than" a lot of murder? God says ALL murder is evil, NONE is acceptable. Abortion is straight across totally anti-biblical and wicked and to try and justify it by circumstances is wicked and evil. For "Christians" to put value on a baby's life based on circumstance is utterly pagan and wicked.

This is why people can claim to believe in Jesus but deny His lordship, sin as they want and justify it, hold to outright heresy or commend others who do and still wear the label of "brothers in Christ", and even ask for a pagan polytheist blasphemer to rule over us. Its why they can claim to be "pro-life" when in fact they are actually pro-abortion, just as McCain and Romney are. The "Christians" who claim to be anti-abortion actually vote pro-abortion, so what makes them pro-life? Because they say they are?

Near Death Books and Stories

In an upcoming book dealing with this subject, John MacArthur says,
For anyone who truly believes the biblical record, it is impossible to resist the conclusion that these modern testimonies—with their relentless self-focus and the relatively scant attention they pay to the glory of God—are simply untrue. They are either figments of the human imagination (dreams, hallucinations, false memories, fantasies, and in the worst cases, deliberate lies), or else they are products of demonic deception.
We know this with absolute certainty, because Scripture definitively says that people do not go to heaven and come back: "Who has ascended to heaven and come down?" (Proverbs 30:4). Answer:"No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man" (John 3:13, emphasis added). All the accounts of heaven in Scripture are visions, not journeys taken by dead people. And even visions of heaven are very, very rare in Scripture. You can count them all on one hand.
Only four authors in all the Bible were blessed with visions of heaven and wrote about what they saw: the prophets Isaiah and Ezekiel, and the apostles Paul and John. Two other biblical figures—Micaiah and Stephen—got glimpses of heaven, but what they saw is merely mentioned, not described (2 Chronicles 18:18Acts 7:55). As Pastor MacArthur points out, all of these were prophetic visions, not near-death experiences. Not one person raised from the dead in the Old or New Testaments ever recorded for us what he or she experienced in heaven. That includes Lazarus, who spent four days in the grave.

Mark DeMoss: "Evangelical" Ambassador for Romney

Mark DeMoss is certainly an ambassador for a child of Satan, a prophet of Baal named Mitt Romney, and NOT an ambassador for Jesus Christ.

Excerpts from the Religion blog over at CNN:

DeMoss developed an appreciation for Mormons from a somewhat unlikely source: the evangelical giant Jerry Falwell.
For DeMoss, who is officially a senior adviser to the Romney campaign, the stakes of his work go well beyond electoral politics. He’s trying to open the American evangelical mind.
I took this on to tackle prejudicial attitudes,” DeMoss says, explaining how he approached Romney about running for president in 2006, convinced that the then-Massachusetts governor was the most qualified man for the presidency that he’d ever seen.
It bothered me that some evangelicals said they couldn’t support a Mormon for president. As a public relations guy, I wanted to change that mindset.”
“My wife and I have been married for 24 years,” DeMoss said, “and I don’t agree with her on everything.”
Looking professorial in tortoiseshell glasses, a blue blazer and a white polo shirt tucked into khakis, DeMoss never mentioned religion or Romney’s Mormonism.
But you could tell it was a big part of what he was talking about.
It’s why he told the delegation that he has prayed with Mitt Romney and shared scripture with him and has even sought parenting advice from Romney and his wife, Ann.
A lot of people forget this or didn’t know it to begin with, but the Moral Majority was a coalition of evangelicals, Catholics, Jews and Mormons,” DeMoss says. “It was not an evangelical organization.

April, his wife, who’s checking her iPhone on the bed of DeMoss’ hotel room, says they’ve lost a few friends over Romney, too. But they’ve also made new Mormons friends, and have developed a deep appreciation for the Mormon faith.
End quote.
Contrast that with:

In the end, conservatives have failed. The entire conservative movement has been an utter failure, and they need to admit it. The reason for this is that they have proved themselves to be unprincipled. A conservative walks into a restaurant and orders a little less than what ever the liberal is having. The cook always gives him more. Always. At root, conservatives are not solid people. They have no principled foundation. They are not interested in true repentance. And, they certainly aren’t willing to pledge their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor for the cause of any principle. So, they will lose. ~Kevin Swanson
Here, Jerry Johnson addresses the often-heard opposition to not voting for Romney:
“Show me in the Bible”, he wrote, “where I have to cast my vote for a Christian.”
Okay, here is my answer. Most Bible believing protestant churches have congregational meetings when voting for a minister to fill the pulpit. Do you think God cares what the potential ministerial candidate believes? To ask it another way, is it the responsibility of the congregation to make sure that the man they are considering to fill the pulpit has a valid profession of faith and embraces Biblical orthodoxy?
I’m just guessing here, but I believe every Christian would answer yes, of course. That’s a no-brainer.
In Romans 13 verses 3 and 4, Paul identifies civil rulers as ministers of God. And since we have the responsibility to make sure the pulpit minister is a Bible believing orthodox Christian, why would we and why should we settle for anything less when it comes to the civil minister?
Matthew Poole notes on this passage, “That is the end of his office, and for this reason God hath invested him with his authority. The Scripture applieth the same title to him that preacheth the word, and to him that beareth the sword; both are God’s ministers, and there is one common end of their ministry, which is the good and welfare of mankind.”
Let me pause here to ask you another question. Do you think the Apostle Paul would have campaigned for and supported, for the office of civil magistrate, one of the Judiazers whom he had just leveled an anathema against?
Now a lot of folks may object here, falling headlong into a sea of rationalism by responding, “Jerry, we could never get a Bible believing Christian elected.”
Well, my friends, with men this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible. It may not happen overnight. It may take some time. But perhaps if we do not compromise our stated beliefs, then those beliefs may eventually become the majority report.

Tricia Erickson, who grew up in the LDS for 21 years, including getting married in the temple, has written on this issue ("Can Mitt Romney Serve Two Masters? The Mormon Church Versus the Office of the Presidency of the United States of America") and says in this article:

Quote:
“To me, as a conservative, a Republican and a Christian, I cannot justify a vote for either one of the Obamney baby-killing, annihilators of the family, government healthcare mandated to take over our economy socialist evil twins –  and be right with our Creator,” she wrote.
Erickson pointed out that neither seek to ban abortion, and both have shown support for homosexuality.
“Republicans say that they have to vote for Romney because we are losing our country to socialism and after another four years of Obama, there will be nothing left of America. I can’t say that I disagree,” she said. “However, what is never talked about is that Romney has his own goals for the Mormon Church [and] The Mormon Plan for America, and while he is cunning and a good debater, he lacks the judgment to discern that he will not become a ‘god’ in his next life and receive his own planet.
It’s like our eyes are glazed over when it comes to the religion of Mitt Romney,” Erickson told talk show host Thomas Hartmann in further discussing the matter. “If you just knew what Mitt Romney believed, you would run far away from this candidate.
[The LDS establishment has] been trying since the beginning to get someone in the presidency, because they believe they have to establish their authority so when Jesus comes to earth, the Mormon Church will take control of the government and the Mormons will be the government of God on earth,” Erickson explained.
End quote.

The article also states:
From its very beginning, the Mormon plan for America has been to have a Mormon president lead this nation and ultimately the world,” they stated. “The so-called ‘White Horse Prophecy’ of Joseph Smith has been referred to often as a destiny of the Mormon priesthood in saving the United States. This ‘prophecy’ predicts that U.S. government will one day hang as if by a single thread and Mormon elders will step in and save it.”
You can't understand this and then say this election has NOTHING to do with religion.

"Christians" can divorce their faith from this election, but Romney can't his, nor will he want to. And apparently "Christians" don't give a rip about what Mormons believe. They just fear Obama more than anything literally, in this world or in Heaven for that matter. They want to go to Egypt. Egypt they shall have.

Mormons are more consistent and faithful to their religion than "Christians" are to the risen Lord Jesus Christ whom they claim they trust in for salvation. Apparently He's not good enough to trust this election and our country's leadership with.
2Co 6:14  Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
2Co 6:15  What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?
2Co 6:16  What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, "I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2Co 6:17  Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you,
2Co 6:18  and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty."

2Jn 1:7  For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist.
2Jn 1:8  Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.
2Jn 1:9  Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
2Jn 1:10  If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, 11  for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.

Conservatives Have Failed Because They Are Unprincipled and Full of Fear

Keven Swanson of "Generations With Vision" writes about the reasons given him to vote for Romney and why he won't:

"In the end, conservatives have failed. So, they will lose." ~ Kevin Swanson of Generations With Vision

This is true, especially for those who are supposed to be the most principled of all people: Christians.

He then goes on to say in part:

The third reason why I should vote for the Other Guy is that he really does have better rhetoric. They tell us that it is possible that the Other Guy’s rhetoric is better than his record, and he ought to be trusted because of that. To which I say, “Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me 395 times, I’M A COMPLETE IDIOT!” Rhetoric changes so often in political races, I encourage people not to pay any attention to it, whatsoever. The only way to know whether a man is principled on any issue is to review his record. If he has supported homosexuality, abortion, big government socialism, or big-government medicine in his previous political involvement, he is not to be trusted with a higher office. Period. Conversions may be proven in lower offices. If this man was converted after his horrendous record in the Massachusett’s State Government, then let it be proven in a lower office first. If homosexuality in the public arena is a growing toxin in American life, and if he blasted the Boy Scouts for their opposition to homosexual involvement, then how do we know that he would oppose a Hate Crimes bill that would land Christian pastors in prison in 2018?

But for the time being, I am concerned about other things besides electing the Director in charge of dismantling an empire. First of all, why are Christians so fearful and so faithless? They take their positions out of fear – fear of Obama, not fear of God. Their rhetoric is so filled with the “Fear of Obama”, one would think that the beginning of wisdom in this election is the fear of Obama. The enthusiasm with which they embrace the worst Republican ever is breath-taking. This portends the end of the Christian right. They are scraping for the last few crumbs from off the table. Forget trying to get a seat at the table! What they would do for a photo-op with the next unprincipled big shot would blow your mind! Twenty years ago, some of these leaders insisted that they would never vote for a man who would make the rape and incest exception in their position on abortion. Now, they’ve even given up on all incremental repentance and all principled thinking to accept a pragmatic socialist with occasionally decent rhetoric.

Billy Graham "Evangelical" Association Admits To Removing Mormonism and Other Names of Cults For Political Reasons

“Our primary focus at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association has always been promoting the Gospel of Jesus Christ," Ken Barun, chief of staff for the association, told CNN in a statement. "We removed the information from the website because we do not wish to participate in a theological debate about something that has become politicized during this campaign." ~CNN

This proves my point: that this is a spiritual issue and "Christians" are throwing Christ under the bus for the sake of a blasphemer and some temporal "freedom". Think of the many who will not be told the truth of the blasphemy of the Mo
rmons because of BGEA loving politics rather than Christ.  Anything to make Romney look benign even though he's clearly a hater of Christ (and his politics are no better---go here for some of the liberalism of Romney)

Jer 23:1  "Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of My pasture!" declares the LORD. 2  Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel concerning the shepherds who are tending My people: "You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not attended to them; behold, I am about to attend to you for the evil of your deeds," declares the LORD.

Jer 23:21  "I did not send these prophets, But they ran. I did not speak to them, But they prophesied. 22  "But if they had stood in My council, Then they would have announced My words to My people, And would have turned them back from their evil way And from the evil of their deeds.

Jer 23:32  "Behold, I am against those who have prophesied false dreams," declares the LORD, "and related them and led My people astray by their falsehoods and reckless boasting; yet I did not send them or command them, nor do they furnish this people the slightest benefit," declares the LORD.

Pastors and Orthoraxy

"A church or pastor can give lip service to the truth. They may even preach it. But what they do (orthopraxy) and who the Pastor exposes the flock to tells more about what he believes than his orthodoxy, sound teaching and doctrinal statements. He who exposes God's flock to Christ's enemies and endorses Christ's enemies is an enemy of the biblical Christ himself, even if he wears priestly garments."
~Doron Gladden

Exactly right!!

Robert Morey said it this way:

The main problem is that many religious leaders today say one thing and teach another. If you ask Gregory Boyd or the other “Open View of God” heretics if they believe in the “omniscience” of God, they will say, “Yes.” Dumb Christians are satisfied at this point and go their merry way deceived and hoodwinked. But if you force them to define the term “omniscience,” they end up denying that God knows all things! They claim that God does not and cannot know the future.

Just because someone says, “I believe in sola scriptura,” does not mean he really believes in it. If he elsewhere says that the Bible is not the final authority in faith and practice, he has denied in substance what he supposedly affirmed as a slogan. Heretics have always done this. What they affirm with the right hand is what they deny with the left hand. It does not matter what doctrine is at stake.

In the early 1980s, those who denied the inerrancy of Scripture did not begin by openly denying it. They redefined
it until the term “inerrancy” meant errors!

Those who deny the bodily resurrection of Christ often pretend to believe in it by tricky words and double talk.
Believe me; I have heard some slick theologians in my day!

Apostasy in Scripture is of two kinds: doctrinal and moral.

A heretic can be a good person who is very moral. Yet, he can also be an anti-Christ. The monk Pelagius was according to all a good man, morally speaking. Thus when I point out some teacher as a heretic, evanjellyfish usually respond, “But he is sooo nice! He is a good man. How dare you attack him!” They assume that heretics are always mean and vile. A nice heretic who says that right phrases and theological clichés cannot be a heretic in their mind. The problem with heretics who are “nice” is that we tend to let them get away with the most outrageous teaching because they seem to be so nice.

End Quote.

2Jn 1:9  Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; 11  for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.

Noah Webster on How to Choose Our Rulers

Let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, just men who will rule in the fear of God [Exodus 18:21].… If the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, government will soon be corrupted … If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws.

~Noah Webster (Compiler of the Webster's Dictionary)

Noah didn't claim to be voting for a pastor as president, either. He kept the bar high for our country's leadership, as we who claim Christ, should too.

A Professing Conservative Voting for a Pro-Choice Candidate Is A Liberal

No Compromise

Fear God.
Vote Biblically.
Don't Compromise.

A little leaven leavens the whole loaf. Keeping up a few alters, even ONE to Baal brought God's judgment upon a nation. Asking for a cult member who blasphemes MY Lord and Savior and dares to call Him a liar, is absolute Treason against the King of kinds and Lord of lords.

Lesser Evil Is Still Evil. Less Abortion Is Still Abortion and Wicked.

Salvation Is In Christ Alone

Christ alone and no one else. No church, nor pastor, no priest, no saint, no works, no baptism, no family,no education, nothing. Christ Jesus alone, by His power alone, for His glory alone.

Voting: the ends justify the means?

Karl over at Sardis Hour has written an excellent article regarding Christians voting for Romney. Its encouraging to hear another person call on professing Christians to stop being pragmatic and actually ACT on and walk in the faith they say they have.

He says in part:

The mindset goes something like this: Where there is a higher objective or greater good in view, the lower objective or lesser good must be sacrificed. This idea is sometimes referred to as “situational ethics” or as the common phrase goes, “the ends justify the means.

Sadly, many Christians have been drawn into the “situational ethics” mentality. Most Christians I know are planning to vote for Mitt Romney for President in November. Yet Christians by in large do not view Romney as an “ideal” candidate or even a “desirable” candidate on his merits alone. However they all view Barack Obama as a much less desirable option, so Romney is the clear choice at the ballots. The line of reasoning is pretty consistent; a vote for anyone other than Romney is the same as a vote for Obama, so the responsible course of action is to vote for Romney. In other words, the ends (booting Obama out of office) justify the means (voting for a less-than-desirable candidate). We must all unite together for the greater good. This particular situation demands that we bite our lip and do the only thing we can to ensure that Obama does not gain another term in office — a.k.a., situational ethics.

End quote. [Emphasis, mine]
He goes on to talk about Romney’s still being pro-murder”when the situation causes too much emotional trama…" Very true and good point.

Karl states:

"Romney is also well-known for changing his stance on key issues at “convenient” times. If you believe these changes of heart (also known as “flip-flops”) are not entirely sincere, then you have at best a person who is double-minded. James 1:8 tells us that such a man is unstable in all his ways (also see Hos. 7:11 & I Kin. 18:21). Even worse, you may have a person who is so lacking in principle and character that he is willing to systematically adjust his position on issues in whatever way is most politically expedient. This is known as the fear of man, and the Word tell us that the fear of man and not God brings a snare (Prov. 29:25 – also Prov. 1:7, 3:7, 9:10, 16:6). So you’re willing to vote for someone (to fill the office that demands more leadership than any other) who is unstable, and may very well be caught in a trap of his own making." [Emphasis, mine]

Exactly right. I’m glad another person is making this connection that Romney is not stable but UNSTABLE in thinking. Karl goes on to explain Romney’s source of faith—that he is not a mere Mormon, but a high church leader.  He then concludes after explaining the blasphemy of the LDS: “So you’re also willing to vote for a cultish blasphemer who holds to the doctrine of Satan himself (Gen. 3:5, Isa. 14:14)!”  Right!!!

Karl then asks, “And this truly is the question. Does God expect us to prioritize our principles in order to achieve a much better result? Do certain situations demand that we tweak our ethics and make a decision for the greater good?” [Emphasis, mine]

The answer is given with three examples from Scripture: Saul and the Philistines; Uzzah and the Ark and; and then Abraham and the Egyptians. All three (and there are plenty more in Scripture) show the disobedience of pragmatism that is really acting like practical atheists which can bring God’s judgment.

An excerpt from Karl’s conclusion:

"Time and again we see God’s displeasure with man when he tries to manipulate circumstances by using situational ethics. With politics, as in every sphere, God’s concern is not with us producing results for Him, but with our holiness (I Pet. 1:15-16)! When we fail to obey God’s Word or the principles found therein because we are trying to attain a certain result, we are in effect renouncing God’s sovereignty in the affairs of men and stepping in to “help God out” in areas which He evidently needs the assistance (Job 40:2, Rom. 9:20)!" [Emphasis, mine]

He ends with the fact of God’s sovereign governance over man and leaders. Ps. 33 and Daniel 4 are excellent passages about this.
