They Have "Tongues" But Where's The Evangelism?

The gift of" tongues" found in the Charismatic movements  allows for "Christians" to ignore the  its primary purpose found in Acts 2: the preaching of the Gospel to those who spoke in foreign languages.

They want a "spiritual gift", particularly "tongues" yet they don't want to proclaim the Gospel in their own language. I would argue that most Charismatics don't even know the biblical Gospel anyway.

Charismatics/Continuationists earnestly seek (even, push) the sign gifts but not the command to preach the Gospel, or to evangelize, orto baptize new disciples of Christ, or to be discerning, or to live godly, holy lives, nor (worst of all) to value Scripture above ALL else.

How many Charismatic /Continuationsts acutally evangelize as the early Christians did in the book of Acts? If they want to mimic the historic coming of the Holy Spirit, why aren't they busy preaching the Gospel instead of selling the "Holy Spirit" for mammon?

The purpose gift of true tongues is found in Acts 2, Is. 28:11, and 1Cor. 14:21-22. It was to proclaim the Good news. After many believers spoke in foreign languages which they did not learn (their own native tongue being Greek, Hebrew, or Aramaic), Peter then went on to preach that good news in Greek (the language most widely spoken in that day- remember thousands came from all over the Roman Empire to Jerusalem for Pentecost).  The true gift of tongues was a sign to unbelieving Jews who did not heed the Scriptures God had already given them, nor did they  trust in the Messiah He had given to them.

Today's facade of "tongue speaking" is nothing more than a way to seem spiritual (which Paul condemned in 1Cor. 14)  sometimes acquired by giving money (always sold as a "love gift" or "seed money") and a way for the Charismatic leaders to make money, as Peter condemned:

Act 8:18  Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money,
Act 8:19  saying, "Give me this power also, so that anyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit."
Act 8:20  But Peter said to him, "May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money
Act 8:21  You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.
Act 8:22  Repent, therefore, of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, the intent of your heart may be forgiven you.
Act 8:23  For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity."
