If you love Christ but little, you will hate error little

If you love Christ but little, you will hate error little. - Spurgeon

The reverse is also true: if you hate error a little, it proves you love Christ but a little. If you love error a bit you will hate Christ a bit. Error is not of Christ nor is there any truth in it. God is wholly one sided---all truth and zero error. Agape rejoices in the Truth only.

1 Cor. 13:
 6does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

1 John 2:21b  because no lie is of the truth.

Eph 4:21  assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in
Jesus

James 4: 4You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

2Th 2:10  and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.

2Jo 1:9  Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.

Gal 5:7  You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?
Gal 5:8  This persuasion is not from him who calls you.
Gal 5:9  A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

"Desiring 'God' Ministries" Has A Problem Knowing How To Apply A Biblical Worldview In the Workplace

One of the dumbest things the Post Modern Calvinists have said:
"I began by asking him why it seems that applying a biblical worldview to the workplace seems so slippery and so elusive.
It is probably because of the fact that the church doesn’t have a uniform view. It is not a consensus on how the church is supposed to relate to culture more generally."
~ Tony Reinke at Desiring "God" ministries, regarding his interview with false teacher Tim Keller.
Actually, Scripture does tell us but these post-modern rebels pretend truth is unclear so they walk in darkness. There are many passages in Scripture that actually tell us how to live--in marriage, the home, friendships/associations, at church, and with work (hint: it's all the same no matter what arena you are talking about). But when you deny the Word of God from the Beginning, you have no light to shed on your feet. These men are walking in darkness (Eph. 4:17-20) as they wring their hands and wander around wondering what to do. Absolute nonsense.

1 Cor. 7:   31Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

1 Peter 2:   13Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, 14or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right. 15For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men. 16Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God. 17Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.
18Servants, be submissive to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and gentle, but also to those who are unreasonable. 19For this finds favor, if for the sake of conscience toward God a person bears up under sorrows when suffering unjustly. 20For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God.

That's only two. There's more. I haven't even hit Proverbs which is a very practical book that talks about these things. You can do your own search in the Scriptures.

"Christianity" Today and Wheaton College Promote Sodomy

'Christianity' Today has printed another article by a Wheaton College student promoting sodomy. It's fair to call this another guilt piece of shameful phariseeism to bully Christians into tolerating such wickedness.

"Lately, I’ve asked myself how I could do more to improve the atmosphere at Wheaton for other gay students like myself. I’m a male exclusively attracted to other males, and have struggled with anxiety and depression from my time in high school. From stories that I heard while growing up in a fundamentalist culture, I thought that all gay Christians had no option but to ignore their orientation as much as possible and pray that God would make them straight. However, after eight years of trying this, I’m still gay. This has not impeded me from continuing to love God, and he continues to palpably reveal himself to me. …"
What he thought was depression and anxiety was probably a guilty conscience. Also, there is no such thing as a "gay Christian"--his presumption is outright wrong.

Anti-sodomy is now condemned as "fundamentalist" (as if that's a dirty word, but we know that's the implication). But God has in all ages, since Genesis, been against sodomy on every level in every culture. I've written about this numerous times, so I won't liste all the verses here. Feel free to do a search on my blog for them.
Moreover, he hasn't received rebuke from anyone at Wheaton, whether students or faculty. It's all been good. These "Christians" call his openness about his sexual perversion as "brave", having "great courage" and, if you can believe this, "strength of character". He even uses 2 Tim. 1:7 about not having a spirit of timidity but of power and self-control. Yeah. He really used THAT one on people. And himself. And he had the gall to call Scripture "inspired" while being in outright rebellion against it.
I'm left to say yet again, that Wheaton is no longer a Christian school.

More problems of why this is not a Christian school:

"After my second piece ran in the Record, I received an email from provost Stanton Jones, the former chair of Wheaton’s psychology department, who has written extensively on sexual orientation and psychology. He said he was intrigued by my essays and applauded my courage and my evident commitment to Christ....Near the end of our conversation, we did discuss the ethics of same-sex relationships, since he has studied the psychology and ethics of homosexuality for much of his career, and only then did I articulate my celibate place. But Jones’s primary aim was to get to know me."

Psychology denies the sound doctrines of: Creation, total depravity, the person and work of the Holy Spirit, the absolute and sole authority of Scripture, and sanctification. When a school has a psych department that necessarily means they do in fact reject these doctrines.

The most pathetic of all was that no one has told this enslaved man that he's in rebellion and the only escape is through salvation in the biblical Christ Jesus of Scripture. Instead, they have all---without exception-- endorsed his perversion as "brave" and have even thanked him for being so open about his shameful deeds of darkness:

"Several weeks after these interactions, someone critical of the college asked me, “So has anyone taken you aside and asked about your relationship with Jesus?” Translation: Have college authorities tried to find out whether you are a “real Christian”? In a tactful way, I had to respond that no one had. Throughout the process, almost everyone whom I’ve known in the community has been level headed and helpful."

Rom. 1: 32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

Yes, as usual, people are wanting to not be black and white on an issue like sodomy in order to appear "fair and balanced" or as they said in this article, "level headed and helpful". This isn't level headed nor helpful. It is encouraging deeds of darkness (as Eph. 4 calls it) and it's spiritual death which isn't helpful to give spiritual life and light. Aiding those who are enslaved in sexual perversion (whether "of the heart" or also of the body--and please, who is a sodomite that has not acted on their perversion? Because this is fruit of a dead heart, there's no fruit of self-control) is not helpful, it is hurtful. As Scripture says, it's hating their soul because you see their sin and you encourage it instead of rebuking it.

Worldly Comformity

It does not matter what you may think of it, but I am certain that grace is at a low ebb in your soul when you even raise the question of how far you may go in worldly conformity.

~Charles Spurgeon

Rom. 12:   1Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

The Two-Book Fallacy

The two-book view is actually a fallacy. The reason is simple: Nature is not a book. It is not something that is comprised of statements in human language. It is not something that a person can literally read or interpret in the same way that we interpret a sentence. This isn’t to say that people cannot learn anything from nature. But it is not a book or record that contains propositional truth.
The advantage of a book is that it is comprised of clear statements in human language that are designed to be understood by the reader. The meaning of a book is the intention of the author. But that’s not the case with nature. What does a rock mean? What does a fossil mean? They don’t literally mean anything because they are not statements made by an author who is intending to convey an idea...

~ICR, "The Two Book Fallacy" by Jason Lisle, PhD.

Truth is revealed by God in Scripture and it tells us all we need to know for life and godliness. We cannot use what is fallen and corrupt and earthly, to interpret what is infallible, pure, and spiritual. Truth is revealed and explains the who, what, where, when, how, and why of life, God, marriage, beauty, origins, the End, salvation, why the world is the way it is, etc. These things are not discoverable; they are revealed by God in His Word.

The Resting Place For The Intellect And The Foundation For Faith

"The Lord God omnipotent reigneth. His government is exercised over inanimate matter, over the brute beasts, over the children of men, over angels good and evil, and over Satan Himself. No revolving of a world, no shining of a star, no storm, no movement of a creature, no actions of men, no errands of angels, no deeds of the Devil—nothing in all the vast universe can come to pass otherwise than God has eternally purposed.
Here is a foundation for faith. Here is a resting place for the intellect. Here is an anchor for the soul, both sure and steadfast. It is not blind fate, unbridled evil, man or Devil, but the Lord Almighty who is ruling the world, ruling it according to His own good pleasure and for His own eternal glory”

The McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence at Princeton & the American College of Pediatricians Agree On the Detriment of Encouraging Children To Question Their Biological Gender

Robert P. George, the McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence at Princeton, sent out a tweet late Sunday evening questioning the science behind the transgender movement, in reaction to the Obama administration’s threatening letter to educators mandating accommodation of gender-confused teenagers.
There are few superstitious beliefs as absurd as the idea that a woman can be trapped in a man's body & vv. But in the Age of Feeling . . .
George’s concerns over the transgender movement echo the recent statement by the American College of Pediatricians, which argued forcefully against encouraging young people to question their own biological sexuality.
“A person’s belief that he or she is something they are not is, at best, a sign of confused thinking,” the doctors stated. “When an otherwise healthy biological boy believes he is a girl, or an otherwise healthy biological girl believes she is a boy, an objective psychological problem exists that lies in the mind not the body, and it should be treated as such.”
The pediatricians noted that children who think they are a different gender than they are suffer from a recognized mental disorder called “gender dysphoria.”
~Breitbart report

The APA even rightly went on to say,Conditioning children into believing that a lifetime of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex is normal and healthful is child abuse,” they concluded."

Why Recent Creation Is Important

Excerpts from Henry Morris III on why a recent Creation is so important:

ICR has documented enormous amounts of scientific evidence that confirm the biblical record of a recent creation...And though such evidence may well never convince those who reject the God of creation, the Bible itself should be the convincing argument for those who claim they have been twice-born by the supernatural power of the Creator (Ephesians 4:24)....

All our deliberations regarding recent creation essentially flow from how we view Scripture.

The higher our regard for the words of the text, the more careful we are with the interpretation of the text.
The more we use the other words and passages in Scripture to define and clarify a given text of Scripture, the less we are inclined to allow extra-biblical information to alter the obvious rendering of that text....

Whenever He reveals anything, He must reveal the truth about Himself and His nature.

The idea that God used any type of evolutionary process to “create” His world contradicts Scripture’s presentation of God as the omniscient Creator.
He could not and would not experiment. Since He knows, He must do.
He could not and would not produce an inferior product.
He must create, shape, and make only that which is good.
Evolution demands both experimentation with creation and the creation of inferior forms. In evolution, there is no permanent “good.”
The issue of a recent creation also impacts how we view what is good versus what is evil and how that fits with God’s character.
~End quote. Bold, italics, original. Red, my emphasis.
For the whole article including verses to support the points, go here. Morris also goes into how the heresy of death prior to Adam and the Fall destroys the need for the atonement and the whole teaching of Scripture becomes mere allegory. Such heresy which flows from evolution is spiritual death.

Sexual Immorality Is Not Equivalent To The Civil Rights Movement

On equating sexual immorality to the Civil Rights movement:

The modern narrative cheapens the racial nature of the Civil Rights Movement and the plight of those who labored, and reassigns definitions to labels that have existed since the beginning of creation, similar to Jim Crow.

Blacks were not asking to use facilities in keeping with some perceived self identification. They were asking to use facilities in keeping with who they were, while maintaining and upholding God's transcendent, moral definitions for family, person, gender. But since multiculturalism has replaced history, and postmodernism has replaced absolutes it is easy to make an appeal to a historic event, out of context, to add political luster to sinful cravings.

Psychology Cannot Aid The Christian In Sanctification

Psychology has absolutely no truth and is completely futile, earthly, demonic, and divisive, feeding the sin nature abundantly and despising the Truth. It cannot in any way, aid one's sanctification. Stop trying to marry such demonic wisdom to Christ.
Eph 4:17 So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,
Eph 4:18 being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;
Eph 4:19 and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.
Eph 4:20 But you did not learn Christ in this way,
Eph 4:21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus,
Eph 4:22 that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,
Eph 4:23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
Eph 4:24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
Jas 3:14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.
Jas 3:15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic.
Jas 3:16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.
Jas 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.

Col 2:2 that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself,
Col 2:3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Col 2:4 I say this so that no one will delude you with persuasive argument.

God Is Creator And That Sound Doctrine Is Married To Several Other Doctrines

There's a lot of doctrine that is inseparably bonded to the sound doctrine of Creation in 1 Chron. 16. Here's just a portion of the majestic prayer:
1Ch 16:25 For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; He also is to be feared above all gods.
1Ch 16:26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the LORD made the heavens.
1Ch 16:27 Splendor and majesty are before Him, Strength and joy are in His place.
1Ch 16:28 Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
1Ch 16:29 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him; Worship the LORD in holy array.
1Ch 16:30 Tremble before Him, all the earth; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.
God is Self-existent, the "I AM" and that is His name. As such, He is Creator and this is necessarily constrained to:
His name and person: Self Existent One
He is Holy (se apart from all gods; is pure)
He is Creator of the heavens and the earth
He is Savior
He is Judge
He is coming to judge all the earth
His Lordship- He reigns over all the earth
He is faithful to His Word
His Word is everlasting
The Beginning (Creation) and the End (judgment upon all the earth)
His attributes: splendor, strength, holiness, greatness, awesomeness
Miracles
Authority of His Word
Because He is Creator, He is to be praised and magnified for His absolute strength.
Consider that if you deny Genesis 1, Heb. 1, etc about how God created all things in six literal days by His Word, you by necessity deny the above doctrines found married to God as Creator in 1 Chron. 16. There can be no divorcing any of these sound doctrines since they are inextricably constrained to the Person of God Himself.
