Me? Pro-Choice? Okay!

Ya want choice? Okay.....

I CHOOSE to NOT vote for evil.

I choose not to vote for the greater OR lesser evil. Evil is evil. Even if its cute, smart, sassy, classy, convincing, or articulate.

A rose by any other name....has thorns.

well if you are waiting to vote for King Jesus, then you are just wasting your time. You are not voting for a pastor and chief in the USA republic, you are voting for a president. When King Jesus returns to establish the Messianic Kingdom on earth, there will be no vote!

strakman,

So lower the standard? Vote for evil anyway?

No way. That doesn't please nor honor Him.

Check out Daniel. He wasn't pragmatic.

Dainel didn't live in a representative democracy but he did serve pagan rulers!!!! If Daniel had taken the position you suggest, he would never have accepted a high-level government post in a pagan government!!! More than that, God, Himself, has chosen to use pagan rulers and nations to fulfill His will, a fact well recorded in the OT. Cyrus the king of the Medes and Persains was used to allow Jews to return to Israel. The NT instructs believers to pray for and be obedient to political leaders, who as we know the vast majority are not born-again believers. It seems, according to your position, that believers who fulfill their biblical duty to support legitimate government authority, even if it is not fully biblical, are supporting evil; a position, I would note that is not in accord with biblical precept or practice. It may be you are even going so far as accusing God of evil by allowing and placing in political power the rulers that exist, which the Bible says He does. If your position goes that far, it needs a big adjustment in order to be biblical!

By not voting you are in essence stating your vote does not matter. Do you have any idea what happened to the women who fought for all women to have the RIGHT to vote? Then, what about all of the men and women who have died in order to keep our country free from Hitler? In essence you are saying their death on the battle fields of Europe mean nothing to you at all!
I will vote because it's my right and it's a privilege.

msgwife you make a good point: both lost folks and saved folks battled the tyranny of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, a war of necessity. As a born-again believer I can distinguish between the evil that must be opposed and the ruler, who is not born again, but who exhibits semblance of moral rectitude -- a person like King Cyrus of Persia -- and therefore i can vote for an unsaved person to be the political leader of the country I live in.
