A
sermon that exalts the "Pastor" and his hearers is a message that
strives against God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has no part in the
popular motivational speaking of our age. He has no part in the verses taken
out of context in order to elevate the self-esteem of man. The Holy Spirit points men to
Christ and crushes all who vainly appoint themselves to His seat. The Biblical Christ is undisputed
Head of His church. A church
that fails to preach the full counsel of God and the expository truth of Christ
in Scripture ceases to be a church. It becomes a meeting where rebels gather to
exalt themselves and strive against the Lord they claim to serve.
