The possessor of truth is not one who merely has longevity in ministry, voluminous writings, media exposure, impact on said persons life. Nor is it one who simply gives a clear articulation of the Gospel, or coalitions of men; the truth is surely with those who study the Holy Scriptures and pursue holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord (Heb.12:14). Those whose lives meet with their sound doctrine (1 Tim. 4:16) are those who truly know and love Christ. Our brothers are not those who merely talk about Jesus in the public sphere, whether vague or clear, rather our brothers are those who deny themselves and do not deny their theology by their deeds. They know God in the person and work of Jesus Christ, despising all that He despises, loving all that He loves (Ps.139: 21). They contend for the faith (Jude 1:3), the full corpus of truth, rendering nothing to secondary status so as to feed the lust of compromise and popularity (Lk. 9:26). It is not mere lip-service that makes one a Christian, but the life of obedience (John 14:15), evidenced by fruit which indicates that one is a biblical Christian (Titus 2:11-15).

Well said. This can be applied to John Piper, Tim Keller, Mark Driscoll, Acts 29, Desiring "God", The "Gospel" Coalition, and "Together for the 'Gospel' "---they may have longevity in "ministry", have voluminous writings, media exposure, impact on many people, and may at times articulate the gospel (although increasingly NOT true of Piper and the "Gospel" Coalition for example) but they deny their said theology by their deeds (including unholy alliances) and affection for those things that God hates, rendering most of biblical truth to secondary status or worse, merely a theory to be accepted or tossed without consequence.
