Suicide Leads To Discussion On Psychology

This is the problem I had addressed on Facebook: that the empty, powerless philosophy of psychology, which Scripture tells us we must reject because it doesn't have Truth to help people deal truly with their minds, emotions, and spirits, along with the empty, deadly "gospel" of Rick Warren. Some were a bit upset by my timing. Apparently 6 days is a good amount of time by some,  to discuss psychology and suicide  and the false notion of mental "illness"  which many are calling on Christians to to accept that which God rejects.

This is the heart of the problem.

Psychology is at its root is anti-Christ, anti-Bible, anti-God, anti-sin, pro-Self, pro-humanistic secularism. The two cannot be integrated. Ever.

"Rebekah Lyons, a blogger and wife of the popular pastor Gabe Lyons, wrote this week that “anxiety and panic are my nemesis” and urged Christians not to link mental illness with spiritual weakness." ~ Washington Post


The problem with that is two fold: first Lyons is starting from personal experience rather than biblical doctrinal truth, and secondly, she's bought into the fallacy of calling something having to do with thoughts and the heart, as an "illness". If its presented as an illness, one can go to a doctor for a cure and that means medicine will end the sickness. However, to call certain thoughts and feelings as a medical illness, well, that just more wrong thinking. There is no such thing as a "mental" illness; thoughts don't get sick, they aren't ill. A brain, a literal heart, a kidney can become ill, diseased, and those can be determined by objective, qualitative medical tests. Not so with "mental illness". Psychologists are merely trained to subjectively interpret subjective symptoms and put them into a category in the Diagnostic Manual of mental disorders and see which ones best fit their client. Its all subjective, and the category picked will vary from psychologist to psychologist, also depending on their theory of psychology (there are over 400 types to choose from).

Lyon is incorrect when trying to urge Christians to not link "mental illness" with spiritual weakness.

Here's what the Bible says about these things:

Psa 94:19  When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your consolations delight my

soul. 

Luke 10:40  But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, "Lord,
do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me." 41  But the Lord
answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42  but one thing
is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her." 

Php 4:6  Be anxious for nothing, ...

This is a command for us to not be anxious. Clearly anxious thoughts are sin against God's 

command.

Instead God tells us what we are to do:

Php 4:6  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with

thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 

And the result of obeying the above commands:

7  And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and

your minds in Christ Jesus. 

What else are we to be doing to know the peace of God? Instead of worrying, panicking, being

anxious--all of which are SIN--what are we to do? God tells us:

Php 4: 8  Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right,

whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if

anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. 

That's another command: we are commanded to dwell or think on these things. God deals very clearly with the heart, mind, and thoughts of people. These are spiritual issues.

Mat 6:27  "And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? 

Mat 6:33  "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34  "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. 

Psa 56:3  When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
Psa 56:4  In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?

Psa 112:6  For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. 

Psa 112:7  He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD. 

Psa 112:8  His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries. 

Mat 13:22  "And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

Scripture is fully and solely sufficient to deal with our hearts and minds. It really is living and active. It really does sanctify us (make us Christ-like). It really does make us competent and equipped for HIS work and His glory by His power.

2Ti 3:16  All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17  that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

Heb 4:12  For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.13  And no creature is hidden from His sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. 

Psa 119:24  Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counselors.

Psa 1:1  Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 

2  but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 

3  He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

USA Today: severed baby feet in jars, baby screams from abortion is ignored by the media

USA Today reports:

Infant beheadings. Severed baby feet in jars. A child screaming after it was delivered alive during an abortion procedure. Haven't heard about these sickening accusations?...there has been precious little coverage of the case that should be on every news show and front page.

NBC-10 Philadelphia reported that, Stephen Massof, a former Gosnell worker, "described how he snipped the spinal cords of babies, calling it, 'literally a beheading. It is separating the brain from the body." One former worker, Adrienne Moton, testified that Gosnell taught her his "snipping" technique to use on infants born alive.

Rick Warren Admits Son Had Illegal Gun

TUSTIN, Calif. –  Pastor Rick Warren has tweeted that his son killed himself with an unregistered gun purchased through the Internet.

Warren, who has been tweeting regularly about his grief since his 27-year-old son Matthew committed suicide last Friday, said he forgives whoever sold the weapon.

Why would a father who knows about his son's ongoing depression and that he had an ILLEGAL gun, not report that or at least try to take it away?

Why is Warren so busy tweeting  just days after his son's death? By being public about all of this, it means that its all fair game for criticism, especially when Warren exploits his son's death to silence his critics. There's a clarity of mind here with a clear agenda. When a heretic has a new radio show to sell, a new book coming up, and the anniversary of his old PDL book to "celebrate", even the tragedy of the suicide of his son won't pull him off of all media. Never waste a tragedy is a well-known liberal tactic we've seen with politicians. There's no difference here except the arena.

He Is Able

Days of Praise:

"Nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day." (2 Timothy 1:12) 

The apostle Paul uses a precision of synonyms. We are to "know" the One in whom we have believed and to be "persuaded" that He is able to "keep" us....The knowledge Paul cited (Greek i'do) emphasizes mental understanding as opposed to experiential knowledge or intuitive perception.

Our confidence is not based on mere emotion but a on clear grasp of God's secure salvation....

"Being confident of this very thing, that he who hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6).

"God. . . hath begotten us again to . . . an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled, and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time" (1 Peter 1:3-5).

"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen" (Jude 1:24-25).

Former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, Mark Kelly, keep pushing for stricter gun laws as they continue to own weapons for recreational purposes, including the same type of gun used in the January 2011 shooting rampage that left Giffords wounded...

Kelly was shown shooting pots and water bottles off large rocks in a desert area with Giffords watching from a porch.

This is why Islam is dangerous. Its not merely a religion, but has historically and consistently been a political-religion, seeking to subdue all nations or else slaughter them. What's your definition of peace? Absence of turmoil? Things going your way? Things you can easily handle without much pain involved?

That's happiness, not peace, because its predicated on your circumstances. This means you will never be truly happy because you've already seen the reality that bad things happen and circumstances change all the time.

You can't control life.

Ever consider what this means?

Guess what? Not one person alive is innocent of sin before the thrice holy God. We are all guilty of breaking His law. He is,after all, the Creator of the entire universe. And no, He didn't create sin or evil; those things cannot be created. They are violations of His commands, rebelling against His authority, and it started in the Garden of Eden back in Genesis 3.

The world is a dark place. But don't blame God. He created everything good. It was man who sinned and it is man who continues today.

There is an answer. Are you ready to hear it?

Looking for the Truth?

Are you truly looking for the Truth? If so, I would encourage you to go to the Bible which itself is fully True and faithful, because its Author is Faithful and True. God does not lie. So if you are ready to hear the reality of where you are at and what the problem is, along with what to do, then the Bible is available to you to search whole-heartedly.

If you haven't come to the end of yourself, if you think you are the standard for determining what is true or untrue, then you aren't open to what the God of Truth clearly states in Scripture. But be warned: you stand condemned before God in your rebellion and sin against Him, and because God is holy and just, He must deal with you and your sin.

Don't fool yourself into thinking you are a good person, because you aren't the standard of what is good. Rather, you are  bad. We all are. That's because we all fall short of the glory of God; He is the one who, being all good, has defined what is truly good and bad, right and wrong.  Your standard of yourself is far too low and you deceive yourself.

It does not take a rifle-bullet to destroy a life. Men have died from little pin-wounds.

This illustrates the story of many a human life. For a time they seem quite promising; then suddenly they struggle and fall. Some secret sin has long been eating its way to the heart, and at last the proud life lies soiled and dishonored in the dust!

We need to be ever on our watch against these treacherous and insidious perils, these little, secret sins--which, unperceived, work death in the soul!

Obama: Living Like A King

Obama continues living the life of a king while the rest of us suffer with a bad economy and a potential war with N. Korea along with hostilities with Iran who also wants to go rogue with nukes.

While we're under a "sequester" that doesn't seem to affect Obama's lavish lifestyle in any way. Tonight marks the tenth exclusive and lavish concert paid for by us surfs (aka tax payers) given at the White House, as Keith Koffler reports.

"And with this evening’s event, the performances are officially part of the “sequester-free zone” at the White House. As is well known, the daily White House tours did not make the cut." - Koffler reports in his article.

What sequester? Its a party life in the White House for the Obamas!

"The tours for the public may be canceled, but the fun continues at the White House, where President Obama and First Lady Michelle are indulging in exclusive entertainment even as furloughs begin to hit the White House itself....Sequesters, it would seem, are for little people."

Two vacations this year already, movies, celebrities,and concerts, shooting  hoops, and golfing. 

What's a little thing like Kim Jong-un saying N. Korea is ready to  strike either our allies or us tomorrow? What's a little thing like Iran wanting to go rogue itself regarding nuclear weapons?

Answers In Genesis Fail the Biblical Test: playing God by justifying murder

According to Answers In Genesis:

The Word of God makes it clear: human life begins at the moment of fertilization.^* Any action aimed at ending that life before birth constitutes abortion.

Is abortion ever justifiable? What if the mother’s life is genuinely endangered by continuing her pregnancy?

Suppose a woman fourteen weeks pregnant is diagnosed with a very aggressive leukemia....

The doctor therefore advises immediate abortion in order to begin chemotherapy and give the mother the best chance of survival.

Here, the physician has the choice of losing either one life or two. The chance of saving the baby is essentially zero, and continuing the pregnancy would put the mother at deadly risk. While this sort of situation is extremely rare, it does happen. Abortion in this circumstance is an effort to spare one life at the expense of another and therefore does not violate biblical principles.

This is absolutely anti-biblical. Its playing God with a human life, considering the value of that life based SOLELY on the odds of viability. This is no different than what the abortionists do. This is certainly not a pro-life stance. Nor is it a pro-life principle. Let's remember that abortion IS murder.

This is Circumstantial Murder. And AIG is justifying it. They are quickly losing any credibility they've had and are proving to be about pragmatism instead of Scripture ("Genesis" speaks about murder and NEVER justifies it).

A few weeks ago AIG also supported the horrific "Bible" series on the History channel. 

They have clearly shown they are pragmatic and not holding to Scripture above everything, and certainly not adhering to the absolute Sovereignty of God and thus trusting HIM with the outcome of a right stand of not killing an unborn baby while its mother has a health issue. Nor is it trusting God's way of drawing and saving people by the faithful proclamation of the Gospel but merely appeal to the world through its ways by watering down the Scriptures and making it entertaining.

I praise God and pray for a more faithful ministry like Institute for Creation Research that continually hold fast to the clear Word and are far more serious about biblical doctrine and having THAT direct their message and actions. Unlike AIG.

Apostates

Possessing the Treasure with Mike Ratliff. On Apostates: (from 1/30/12)

Excerpts:

It must have been about four or five years ago that I was in a discussion on this blog after I had written a piece about some of the confusing things coming from the ministry of Dr. John Piper and others. I made the comment to one of my friends that I thought that Dr. Piper needed to show the fruits of repentance for some of the things he had said and done or he would eventually be considered an apostate. Someone not in that conversation (a bottom feeder or troll??) jumped all over that statement and condemned me for calling Dr. Piper an apostate which he refused to consider because (according to him) an apostate is one who drops all pretense of Christianity and walks away from his faith. Using that reasoning those who continue to claim to be Christians even though they preach heresies such as Modalism (T.D. Jakes for instance) or deny the necessity of the Atonement and Justification by Faith alone and the reality of Hell (Rob Bell for instance) or those who insist on Christianity that is forever changing according to whatever society demands or wants (pragmatism) and insist that doctrine is not needed, but works is what God wants (Rick Warren for instance) are Christians along with the Roman Catholics, Mormans, and anyone else who claims that they are. 

Of course then there are those fellas (Steven Furtick, and James MacDonald for instance) who are all about erecting “cool” idolatrous worship which is really all about themselves and they sell this product to other wannabe preacherboys who want to be rich and famous like them. Do you see the common denominator in all this? Is any of what these people do about God and his glory? Is it about the edification of the Body of Christ through the genuine worship of God for his glory alone? No, it is about making money and becoming famous while fleecing the sheep who have been duped into thinking its all about the gospel. Have you noticed that these people never talk about the gospel without talking about money?

Where do apostates come from? According to God’s Word, some are revealed through persecution (Matthew 24:9-10; Luke 8:13). Notice these are not genuine Christians who went bad. No, they were never genuine to begin with. In 2 Timothy 4:10, for instance, Paul talks about Demas who forsook him because of his love for this present world. Demas had a worldly spirit. Apostates are more worldly-minded than they are concerned for the glory of God. In 1 John 2:19 the Apostle John makes it clear that Apostates were never genuine believers and their departure, whether that is to walk away from the faith or into a false form of Christianity (same thing), reveals their disingenuousness.

However, let us be clear. Genuine believers do not become Apostates. Here are some passages for your meditation......

1 But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron, 3 men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth. (1 Timothy 4:1-3 NASB)

Apostates are not simply those who walk away from Christianity and become irreligious or become a Muslim or Hindu or whatever. No, an Apostate can remain in an organized so-called “Christian Church” and be very religious and remain quite active in the “ministry” of deceiving as many people as he or she can. I mentioned it earlier in this post. Money is one of the motivating factors. There is also fame and celebrity. All of that feeds the ego of these people whose ministry is the source of their idolatrous ministry to themselves.

You will note this was written over a year ago. What has happened with Piper, Warren, etc? Have they shown signs for repentance? No. Both Piper and Warren called for Christians to pray (and Warren included fasting) that God would give a good pope to the Roman Catholic Church! The pope's titles and roles are by definition absolute heresy and idolatrous. Such a call by these two men show they are apostate: they validate a blasphemous church that denies the Gospel that saves, denies Justification by faith alone, worships a dead woman, and denies the atonement as the full and perfect payment by Jesus on behalf of sinners, among other things (the list is quite long where RCC is in grave error). 

Moreover Piper also "clarified" his false gospel (in attempt to justify the salvation found in the Roman Catholic Church). Here's what he said in his "clarification":

The reason for saying, “when consistently worked out,” is because I think it is possible to inconsistently deny the truth of imputation while embracing other aspects of the gospel (blood bought forgiveness, and propitiation, for example), through which God mercifully saves.

I am thankful that God is willing to save us even when our grasp of the gospel may be partial or defective. None of us has a comprehensive or perfect grasp of it.

Does that sound like a man who has repented and coming back to the Truth, or away from the Truth as he justifies embracing a false or defective gospel can save?

In contrast he is what solid Bible teacher and expositor John MacArthur said:"The gospel we present has eternal consequences. If it is the true gospel, it can direct men and women into the everlasting kingdom. If it is a corrupted message, it can give unsaved people false hope while consigning them to eternal damnation. This is not a trivial matter for theologians to speculate on. It is an issue every lay person must understand and get right. "

No, Piper is definitely going apostate as he has released himself from the constraints of accountability by  a local church and can now continue freely down the road of destruction. 

Encouragement

And instead of teaching God and getting people into the Word of God, most churches are trying to patch up the unstable by giving them human solutions and worst of all, psychology of which even psychologists say it has no answers.

There's only one resting place for the soul and that's in God. We stand fast in the Lord. We stand firm in the Lord. Back to verse 1 where he said that. Martin Luther said to Erasmus, "Your thoughts of God are too human." And Paul here is saying what the poet wrote, "I cannot know why suddenly the storm should rage so fiercely round me in its wrath, but this I know, God watches all my path." And as a result, be anxious for nothing. Be anxious for nothing. Stop worrying. Don't get knocked over by trials and temptations and the fact that your little world isn't absolutely perfectly the way you wish it was. That's a form of unconscious blasphemy. Don't worry.
