Rick Warren Endorses Roman Catholic Book That Calls People Back To Roman Catholicism

James Sundquist alerted me to this article by Lighthouse Trails Research:

Rick Warren has endorsed a book "Catholics Come Home" by Tom Peterson which, along with their heavy campaign (tv commercials which I have seen on tv myself) trying to seduce people to go back to Rome. Rick Warren yet AGAIN shows his hostility toward Christ by endorsing Catholicism and its "evangelism". Yet John Piper is convinced he is biblically sound and holds to at least some Reformed doctrines. Let's remember this is also the guy who Francis Chan filled in the pulpit for and highly praised recently

“The mission of Tom Peterson and Catholics Come Home to bring souls home to Jesus and the church is critically important during this challenging time in our history. I fully support this New Evangelization project.”
Rick Warren, author of The Purpose Driven Life

This shot is from Catholics Come Home endorsement page.

As Erin at Do Not Be Surprised reports in reference to Warren's endorsement of the book and "evangelizing" back to Rome:

"Rick Warren tipped his ecumenical hand long ago. Most recently, this was demonstrated when the purpose-driven pastor called on Christians to join him in "fasting and prayer for the 115 Cardinals seeking God's Will in a new leader." ...Indeed, it seems quite apparent that Warren was not cleverly asking Christians to pray that the Cardinals and Pope might come to repentance and faith in Christ alone. If he were, he would not have glowingly endorsed the book, Catholics Come Home, by Tom Peterson...

By now, one may begin to wonder just how many chances remain for Rick Warren to repent of his false, blasphemous, ecumenical behavior. Only the Lord knows, but let the call for that repentance be sounded by Christians who see and who grieve over Warren's continual sin, for he is leading and has led many astray."

Sola Sisters also rightly ask:

"Now that Saddleback pastor Rick Warren has endorsed the Roman Catholic campaign Catholics Come Home, created to bring lapsed Catholics back to the Catholic faith, can he finally and officially be publicly marked out and separated from for the false teacher that he is?"

Valid questions.

Sadly, I think at this point, Warren could say he is the anti-Christ, and "Christians" will not give him up but rather look for some "good" in him and his teaching. Yes, I think it is THAT BAD in "Christianity" today. If Warren's endorsement of Eastern mysticism, sodomy, Islam, liberation theology, Romanism, pragmatism, anti-Lordship, anti-Scripture alone, moral goodness, anti-sovereignty of God, repeatedly lying, hasn't been enough up to now, THIS won't be enough either. (Go here and here for all of this info which I give evidence for.)
