Many
Christians think every person has the right to enter into the kingdom of
Heaven or at least an "equal opportunity" for getting into the Kingdom of God (notice the Western democracy thinking "Christians" proclaim with the Gospel?!). This is not only unbiblical, but pridefully arrogant and presumptuous. No
one has the innate right to enter the kingdom of God nor is there ever such a thing as an equal opportunity to get saved.
God grants the
right to enter His Kingdom to those whom He alone chose before the creation of
the World and then makes it happen in time.
First of
all Scripture states all are at enmity with God and there are none righteous, good, nor seeking God (Rom. 3:9-18, 23; Eph. 2:1-3; 1Cor. 2:14 for examples).
Only
those whom the King of kings wishes to save, He saves; the rest He hardens and its all for His glory (yes, even His justice and wrath shown in the damnation of the wicked are glorified).
Psa 65:4
How blessed is the one whom You
choose and bring near to You To dwell in Your
courts. We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Your
holy temple.
Joh 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them He gave
the right to become children of God, even to
those who believe in His name, 13 who
were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor
of the will of man, but of God. (See
John 3:5-8)
Eph
1:11 also we have obtained an inheritance, having been
predestined according to His purpose Who works all things after the
counsel of His will,
Jesus,
the Prince of Peace (Is. 9:6), who is our peace (Eph. 2:14) preached the Gospel
Peace (Matt. 5; Eph. 2:17).
Eph
2:17 AND HE
CAME AND PREACHED PEACE TO YOU WHO WERE FAR AWAY, AND PEACE TO THOSE WHO WERE
NEAR;
And here's the problem: if Jesus wanted all men to be saved, why didn't Jesus always preach clearly to all the crowds?
Jesus did not preach with clarity the
Gospel of Peace to all: He hid the truth from
most so that they would NOT hear and believe and so be
saved (Matt. 13:13-16).
Salvation comes by way
of hearing and believing the Gospel of peace, right?
Rom 10:17 So faith comes from hearing,
and hearing by the word of Christ.
But the hearing and seeing must
be granted and it is NOT granted to
all.
Mat 13:10
And the disciples came and said to Him, "Why do You speak to them in
parables?"
Mat 13:11
Jesus answered them, "To you it has been
granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to
them it has not been
granted.
Mat
13:12 "For whoever has, to him more shall
be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what
he has shall be taken away from him.
Mat 13:13 "Therefore
I speak to them in parables; because while seeing
they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.
Mat 13:14 "In
their case the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which
says, 'YOU WILL KEEP ON HEARING, BUT WILL NOT UNDERSTAND; YOU WILL
KEEP ON SEEING, BUT WILL NOT PERCEIVE;
Luk 8:9
His disciples began questioning Him as to what this parable
meant. 10 And He said, "To you it has been granted to
know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the
rest it is in parables, so that
SEEING THEY MAY NOT SEE, AND HEARING THEY MAY NOT UNDERSTAND.
Clearly
God does not want all to be saved because:
Jesus preached in a way that only the elect would hear and
believe (Matt. 13:10-17; Luke 8:9-10).
Jesus prayed only for His own sheep, not the
whole world (John 17:9,19)
Jesus revealed Himself only to His disciples, not the
world (John 14:22; Matt. 11:27)
The Holy Spirit regenerates only those whom He wishes to save
(John 3:8)
God allows, dare I say, appoints Satan to come and snatch the Word from the hearts of men so that they won't be saved (Luke 8:12)
Mat 11:27 "All things have been
handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor
does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone
to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.
Joh 14:22 Judas
(not Iscariot) *said to Him, "Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?"
Act 13:48 When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing
and glorifying the word of the Lord; and as many as had been
appointed to eternal life believed.
Joh 17:9 "I ask on their
behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of
those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours;
Joh 17:19 "For
their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in
truth. 20 "I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also
who believe in Me through their word;
Luk 8:12 "Those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved.
Only those
whom the Spirit chooses to regenerate will hear, see, and enter into the
Kingdom of God—those whom He makes His children. Just as we can't choose our physical birth, we cannot choose our spiritual birth. God says with man it is impossible.
Joh 3:3
Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to
you, unless one is born again he cannot
see the kingdom of God."… Joh
3:5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to
you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot
enter into the kingdom of God. Joh
3:6 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that
which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 "Do
not be amazed that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' 8 "The
wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where
it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the
Spirit." (See John 1:12-13)
God hardens hard hearts
so that they do not come to salvation:
Rom 11:7 What then? Israel failed to obtain what
it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest
were hardened, 8 as it is written,
"God gave them a spirit of
stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, down
to this very day."
Rom 9:18 So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.
To the elect (whom are ill-deserving), He gives
eternal life:
Eph 1:11 also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined
according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,
Act 13:48 When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing
and glorifying the word of the Lord; and as many as had been
appointed to eternal life believed.
Rom 8:29 For
those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of
His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom
He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
Clearly
the King of kings decided whom He wanted in His kingdom and therefore opened
their hearts ("ears" and "eyes") to the Gospel, giving them
faith to believe in the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ and therefore
justified them, saved them, sealed them, sanctified them, and will glorify them
(Rom. 8:30; Eph. 1:13, Rom. 5:1; John 17:19). The rest He hardeneds (are you arguing against this? Read Rom. 9 below).
God will
not apologize for hardening hard hearts. Do you?
Do you think its contrary to
His character to harden hearts and to condemn all unrighteous men?
His
righteous wrath is just and His justice is inflexible. Why do you think that
God rejecting many (all on the Broad Road) and refusing---even hardening the
hearts of those with hard hearts--- is somehow a mark on His character?
Why do you think you know better and proclaim
“God wants all to be saved” (and even “God loves everyone and offers salvation
to all) when in fact that is categorically false?
Do you
have more compassion than God does?
Do
you quarrel with the Word?
Jas 1:18 In the exercise of His will He brought
us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.
19 This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to
speak and slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not achieve the
righteousness of God. 21 Therefore, putting aside all filthiness
and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which
is able to save your souls.
Rom 9:13 Just as it is written, "JACOB I LOVED, BUT ESAU I HATED." 14 What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? May it never be! 15 For He says to Moses, "I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I HAVE COMPASSION." 16 So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy.
Rom 9:18 So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires. 19 You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who resists His will?" 20 On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, "Why did you make me like this," will it?
Your wrong sense of
fairness (God gives all an opportunity for salvation/ God wants all to be saved) does not bring about God’s righteousness. In fact, your view of fairness goes against God’s
holiness, His wrath, His inflexible justice, as well as His mercy:
Psa 5:5 The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes; You hate all who do iniquity. 6 You destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the man of bloodshed and deceit.
Psa 11:4 The LORD is in His holy temple; the LORD'S throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men. 5 The LORD tests the righteous and the wicked, And the one who loves violence His soul hates. 6 Upon the wicked He will rain snares; Fire and brimstone and burning wind will be the portion of their cup. 7 For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; The upright will behold His face.
