Jokesters Skew Statistics on Survey of "Homosexual" Teens

Consider that this reflects the danger I've noted before: the claim of a male student identifying with the girls, just so he can use the girls' bathroom and/or locker rooms to his advantage.

Quote:

A study by a Cornell University developmental psychologist found that statistics about gay youth may be inaccurate because of "jokesters" who claim to be gay or bisexual when they aren't.
Ritch Savin-Williams, who specializes in the subject, said that many students initially claim to be gay, then later identify as straight because they were either joking or confused.
More than 70 percent of those who claimed to have a "romantic attraction to someone of the same sex" later identified themselves as being straight.

The report focuses on the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health, a survey that followed a nationally representative group of tens of thousands of teens into adulthood. Add Health, as it is known, is considered one of the most important sources of data on the lives of young people, including those who are gay, lesbian and bisexual.

...
Earlier research on the Add Health survey found some signs of dishonesty, the study noted. For instance, hundreds of teens said they had an artificial hand, arm, leg or foot, yet few reported the same thing when interviewed at home. The new study found “inconsistent” boys and girls were more delinquent and more likely to say they weren’t honest when they filled out the survey.
End quote.

Surveys aren't scientific for this very reason. Nor is psychology/therapy for the same reason.

Of course, government schools are huge pushers of sodomy and try to confuse children into thinking sexually, which is heinous. Those they try to push into that direction likely later will realize it was just wrong.
