Men In These Last Days: it's not a medical issue, but a sin issue.

2Ti 3:1  But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.

2Ti 3:2  For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,

2Ti 3:3  heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good,

2Ti 3:4  treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

2Ti 3:5  having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

For people "will be" = middle voice, meaning the subject is active in this--doing it to themselves. They aren't victims. They do this to themselves up against the truth and true wisdom. So it isn't a medical issue.

This is sin and the world's "wisdom" (psychology) and medicine not only can't solve it, they actually feed the sin by avoiding any consciousness of guilt. They suppress the truth with unrighteousness. Nothing works because they are "irreconcilable", haters of good, and arrogant.

"unloving" - astorgos= without natural family affection. Same in Rom. 1:30-31. See also 1 Tim. 5:8 (those who don't provide for their household deny the faith and are worse than unbelievers); Matt. 10:35-36 (enemies of one's household)
Jas 3:13  Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.  Jas 3:14  But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.  Jas 3:15  This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.  Jas 3:16  For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.  Jas 3:17  But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
