Piper Is Right, But It Shows MacArthur's Increasing Rebellion

Ironic that even Piper at least says that unbelief that fornication is a sin is a disciplinary issue in the church. According to Piper, his friend MacArthur should be disciplined for stating that Christian bakers aren't sinning if they bakes cakes for a homosexual "weddings".

Piper stated:

"A Bible-believing Christian couple that believes fornication is permissible should be "disciplined" said Piper.
"If the couple that we're talking about here, whose wedding you're going to attend, has only stopped doing the act of fornication, but has not stopped believing that fornication is right, then they probably (if they belong to a Bible-believing church) are in a position where they should be disciplined — because we don't just discipline people for unrepentant actions of sinning, but also for unrepentant belief that sin is right or permissible," he noted."

Following Jesus For the Benefits

Following Jesus isn't the same as trusting in and obeying the biblical Jesus and what He has taught and commanded. It certainly isn't loving Him because loving Christ necessarily means we're obeying Him (John 14:21-23, 1John 2:3-5). The crowds followed Jesus only as long as He fed them. They grumbled against Him (v. 41,43), disbelieved and discounted Him (v. 42), demanded He perform signs to meet their standard of whether they would believe Him or now (v. 30), they wanted to work their way to Heaven (v. 28), and they could not accept nor believe His doctrine of faith alone in Him alone (v.60-66).

Joh 6:26  Jesus answered them and said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves, and were filled.

Joh 6:27  "Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man shall give to you, for on Him the Father, even God, has set His seal."
Joh 6:28  They said therefore to Him, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?"
Joh 6:29  Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent."
Joh 6:30  They said therefore to Him, "What then do You do for a sign, that we may see, and believe You? What work do You perform?
Joh 6:31  "Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, 'HE GAVE THEM BREAD OUT OF HEAVEN TO EAT.'"
Joh 6:32  Jesus therefore said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven.
Joh 6:33  "For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world."
Joh 6:34  They said therefore to Him, "Lord, evermore give us this bread."
Joh 6:35  Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.
Joh 6:36  "But I said to you, that you have seen Me, and yet do not believe.

Joh 6:40  "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him, may have eternal life; and I Myself will raise him up on the last day."
Joh 6:41  The Jews therefore were grumbling about Him, because He said, "I am the bread that came down out of heaven."
Joh 6:42  And they were saying, "Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does He now say, 'I have come down out of heaven'?"
Joh 6:43  Jesus answered and said to them, "Do not grumble among yourselves.

Joh 6:44  "No one can come to Me, unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.
Joh 6:45  "It is written in the prophets, 'AND THEY SHALL ALL BE TAUGHT OF GOD.' Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me.
Joh 6:46  "Not that any man has seen the Father, except the One who is from God; He has seen the Father.
Joh 6:47  "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life.
Joh 6:48  "I am the bread of life.

Joh 6:52  The Jews therefore began to argue with one another, saying, "How can this man give us His flesh to eat?"
Joh 6:53  Jesus therefore said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves.
Joh 6:54  "He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.
Joh 6:55  "For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink.

Joh 6:60  Many therefore of His disciples, when they heard this said, "This is a difficult statement; who can listen to it?"
Joh 6:61  But Jesus, conscious that His disciples grumbled at this, said to them, "Does this cause you to stumble?
Joh 6:62  "What then if you should behold the Son of Man ascending where He was before?
Joh 6:63  "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.
Joh 6:64  "But there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was that would betray Him.
Joh 6:65  And He was saying, "For this reason I have said to you, that no one can come to Me, unless it has been granted him from the Father."
Joh 6:66  As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew, and were not walking with Him anymore.

No, many might follow Christ Jesus for the benefits (true of Evangelical leaders--selling Jesus and the Bible is VERY lucrative --it can bring in millions of dollars annually and I'm talking about within the conservative circles, not including WOF Charismatics--they of course do the same). Many might admire Him. Many might think He has some good things to say. But this is merely the kiss of an enemy. Their hearts are still at war with Him. They will now bow to King Jesus. They think doing things (going to church, giving to ministries, building houses, going on mission trips, going to conferences, listening to "Christian" music) means they're saved and love Jesus. It doesn't. Because when the sound doctrines of Christ are taught faithfully, it's war. The Scripture's sound doctrine, through the Holy Spirit crushes pride and all arguments that sets themselves up against Him, His standard, His word, His way of Salvation, His means of and reason for sanctification (which includes tribulation, insults, and persecution John 16, Matt. 10).

2Co 10:4  for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.
2Co 10:5  We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,
2Co 10:6  and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.

1Co 2:1  And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.
1Co 2:2  For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.
1Co 2:3  And I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling.
1Co 2:4  And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
1Co 2:5  that your faith should not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.

1Co 1:21  For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

Eph 4:17  This I say therefore, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,
Eph 4:18  being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;
Eph 4:19  and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality, for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.
Eph 4:20  But you did not learn Christ in this way,
Eph 4:21  if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus,
Eph 4:22  that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,
Eph 4:23  and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

Eph 4:24  and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

Good Resources

Good, solid, biblical teaching here. You won't get quips from Piper,TGC, or The Shepherd's Conference in these messages. No jokes, cute stories, or personal anecdotes, either. Just treating and preaching the Word as it is: the Word of God in sober-mindedness and conviction of the Spirit.

Good articles here.

The Thief

Joh 10:1  "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber.
Joh 10:2  "But he who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep.

Joh 10:7  Jesus therefore said to them again, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
Joh 10:8  "All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.

Joh 10:10  "The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly.

This isn't about the devil as I've heard so many people claim, but rather this is about illegitimate shepherds, who see themselves as the gatekeepers, those who aren't in Christ and demand others to come to the "truth" through their leadership and their opinions. False teachers seek to destroy the sheep of Christ. The only way to to discern, mark, and then reject such fake leaders is to know, believe, trust, and obey the Word of God, which the Holy Spirit will use  to protect and nurture your spirit and mind.

Isa 8:20  To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because they have no dawn.

1Jn 4:1  Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

2Co 11:3  But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds should be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.
2Co 11:4  For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully.

2Ti 3:13  But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
2Ti 3:14  You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them;
2Ti 3:15  and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
2Ti 3:16  All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
2Ti 3:17  that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

2Co 11:13  For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14  And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
2Co 11:15  Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their deeds.

It's Not Complicated

If Bible "experts" can't believe nor get correct even a couple of the clearest doctrines in Scripture right, then they have nothing worth hearing because they are still blind, deaf, and in darkness. In other words they have a spirit of unbelief and rebellion.

A few of  those doctrines I'm referring to are:

Creation
Millennial Kingdom of Christ the King
Women teaching men

And if they don't get those right, they won't be right on:

homosexuality
foul/crude language
the world's philosophies including psychology, evolution, and pragmatism
mysticism
Roman Catholicism
divorce/marriage

Such "experts" have the voice of a stranger, not of Christ the King.

They offer poisoned, rotten food, not the healthy, pure milk and meat of Scripture.
They have another spirit which God commands I not tolerate.
They don't believe that Scripture really is powerful and living, nor do they treat it as the Word of God but merely of man.

They keep people in bondage, making them think they need their expertise, but in reality they are keeping the very tools to test them from the people, along with using fear or intimidation.

Joh 8:36  "If therefore the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

Gal 5:1  It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

2Pe 2:17  These are springs without water, and mists driven by a storm, for whom the black darkness has been reserved.
2Pe 2:18  For speaking out arrogant words of vanity they entice by fleshly desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error,
2Pe 2:19  promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved.

Joh 10:1  "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber.
Joh 10:2  "But he who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep.
Joh 10:3  "To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.
Joh 10:4  "When he puts forth all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.
Joh 10:5  "And a stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers."

Joh 10:7  Jesus therefore said to them again, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
Joh 10:8  "All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.
Joh 10:9  "I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
Joh 10:10  "The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly.
Joh 10:11  "I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.
Joh 10:12  "He who is a hireling, and not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, beholds the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees, and the wolf snatches them, and scatters them.
Joh 10:13  "He flees because he is a hireling, and is not concerned about the sheep.
Joh 10:14  "I am the good shepherd; and I know My own, and My own know Me,
Joh 10:15  even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

Heb 4:12  For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Heb 4:13  And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

Encouragement

This one verse alone should give comfort and sobriety to each true believer;
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

The Words Ring Hallow Now: John MacArthur's Hypocrisy

**Update below**

Jas 2:1  My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism.

Associations, coalitions, friendships, self preservation, institution preservation, legacy preservation, and fear of men cause a man to become a hypocrite. Hypocrisy is a moral/character issue as Jesus clearly points out repeatedly (Matt. 5-7,23, and Gal. 2:11-14 for example), not just sin of a physical nature like fornication or drunkeness (in fact, those at the root are spiritual issues as well). Unrepentant sin is also a moral issue and disqualifies a man. The sin of partiality is such a sin that many elders refuse to confess. Go **here to hear MacArthur revel in rebellion regarding submitting to the accreditation process in relation to starting TMS (where he said that forgiveness later is easier than permission, so they started the seminary in rebellion to the regulations.)

MacArthur with unprincipled men who should be silenced.
**Speaking with false teachers and worldlings
Info on Roma Downey here
Things have shifted with John MacArthur since 1993 when he preached this (excerpts are in italics;bold and red are mine):
But part of the ministry of leadership in the church is to silence certain men.  They must be muzzled, gagged, made dumb.  And apparently a fairly large group of them existed on the island of Crete in the various cities there and in the churches.  And young Titus - who is now in Crete and is left with the responsibility, according to verse 5, of setting in order what remains and of ordaining elders there - has as one of the formidable tasks for himself and the elders and the churches the silencing of these false teachers because of their deadly and destructive teaching.  Obviously this issue, described in verses 10 to 16, is one of the compelling reasons why you have to have elders who are qualified by the qualities in verse 9, as I noted.  God is not going to supernaturally cut out their tongues. The church can't do that.  We can't go around cutting the tongues out of people that we disagree with.  God has decided to give them a little bit of space before He silences them physically.  But we now have the task of silencing them until God silences them.  He may silence them by salvation, making the tongue of their former life cleave to the roof of their mouth and causing them only to speak His truth. He may silence them in death.
But in the meantime, we must silence them.  How’re we going to do that?  Let me suggest three ways.  Number one, we silence them by revoking their right to teach or speak.  We can silence them by revoking their right to speak. That is to say, we give them no platform.  We give them no opportunity.  We take away the privilege of teaching.  Scripture always shows us how God protects His people from the teaching of error.  He never desires that they be exposed to it in the name of “equal time,” or in the name of “open mindedness,” or in the name of “academia and scholarship.”  We can silence them by giving them no place to speak...
Second Timothy 3:13, "Evil men and seducers [or imposters] will proceed from one level of badness to another." They'll go “from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.”  And then he goes on to say, "And you stick to the Scripture, which is able to make the man of God adequate, equipped for every good work."  That's all you need.
We can silence them by taking away their platform.  We don't do that in our day.  We put them on radio.  We put them on TV.  We publish their books.  We let them have rallies in our churches.  We propagate their tapes....
There is an obligation on the part of Christianity to give voice to some men and to silence others.  And we silence them by taking away their platform....
There's a third way that I think we silence men who must be silenced, and that is we silence their speaking by means of holy living, by means of holy living.  Divine truth, the truth of God, produces holy living.  Peter, 1 Peter 2:15 says, "You silence the foolishness of ignorant men by your holy conduct." ...
The problem is that hypocrisy is not holy living. Nepotism is not holy living. Having your name on a Bible and university building isn't holy living. Preserving your legacy and reputation in defiance to reality and authority isn't holy living. Partiality isn't holy living. And you can't have holy living when you think doctrine is a mere opinion that can be tossed around like a theory and that not holding to is has no consequences. Spiritual harlotry isn't holy living.
So, you don't put false teachers on a platform.  You don't give them a class in college or seminary.  You don't give them a Sunday school class.  You don't give them a Bible study.  You don't put them on radio, television, or publish their books.  You silence them.  And policing this problem is really the work of the elders in the church....
The New Testament characterizes these men who attach themselves to the church as destructive to the faith, cruel, deceitful, covetous, ungodly, proud, ignorant, hateful, unprofitable, vain, and at all costs they are to be silenced.  At the end of Romans, as Paul closes that great doctrinal letter, he says, "I urge you, brethren," verse 17 of chapter 16, "keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Jesus Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting."  “Be aware, after all I've told you doctrinally, that some people are going to come in and try to teach something else.
That's men in his seminary, men at his Shepherd's Conferences, men and women in TGC and T4G, men on his church's bookstore shelves, and those at the Getty's Sing 2018 & 2019.
To the Galatians he says, "Let them be accursed if they fool with the gospel."  Peter says they are headed for destruction.  Their judgment isn't sleeping very long.  There are many of them.  That's their proliferation.
That's Piper and Keller. The hedonism and socialist gospels are false. So is the gospel that has no doctrine of Imputation as Piper offers as valid.
Look at the second aspect of this description, their behavior.  They are described as “rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers.”  “Rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers” - that describes really their behavior.  Their behavior, first of all, is “rebellious.”  That is to say they are unruly and they are out of control.  The church can't control them. They don't respond to spiritual authority.  They don't respond to the control of the elders.  They don't even respond to the control of the Scripture or the Holy Spirit, God Himself.  Here they are, professing Christians, somehow identified with the church, associating with Christianity, refusing to submit to the authority of the church, to the authority of the Scripture, to the authority of leaders, spiritual leaders. False teachers want to associate with the church, but they never want to come under its authority....
I refer to what I said in the beginning of this post regarding MacArthur's rebellion against his own accreditation association he and the school willingly put themselves under. Also, the elders also won't submit to the Holy Spirit's rebuke or exhortation of them when they're caught in sin. Leaders are not above submitting to those in Christ who are standing IN the Truth, because it's really about what spirit is behind them. They are to be teachable and humble to the flock, some of whom really are mature in Christ.
This describes his friend and fellow pulpit teacher, John Piper:
The third thing he says about them is they're “deceivers,” literally “mind deceivers.” They deceive the mind. They make the mind that people think this is truth when it isn't.  They are seducers of people's minds.  And there are always going to be people who want to have their ears tickled, 2 Timothy 4, and they're going to want teachers like that who tickle their ears and tell them fancy, imaginative things; tell them fantasies and wonderful, mystical things, and things that make them feel good.  So that's their behavior.  They are rebels who have nothing to say, and yet they use their nonsense to deceive peopleThese behaviors mark all false teachers...
This is the way of Evangelicalism, TMUS, GTY, GCC. Unteachable and arrogant, they do not hear the warnings and concerns given to them by discerning Christians. They mock, dismiss, call it a satanic attack, divisive, etc. They won't take you seriously when you don't have a degree from a seminary or are part of their association or network of their good old boys club (so it's a double problem for discerning women). Degrees, books written, conferences, seminares, seminaries, number of followings, size of church, connection to celebrity pastors is how they define if someone *really* is spiritual, *really* knows God. Sorry, but if you study, love, and practice the Truth of Scripture without any of those things, they won't bother with you. Worse, they will rebuke you, mock you, ridicule you, etc. Also, Piper, Keller, Chandler, Voskamp, Francis Chan, Beth Moore, etc are very much into this gnosticism.
Verse 16, “They profess to know God.”  Obviously they were connecting with the church and saying, "We belong; we know God." They were probably saying, "We know God a lot better than you do because we're circumcised and we keep the Mosaic Law and ceremonies."  There would almost be a sort of Gnostic tone to this statement in verse 16. They're feeling themselves elevated above everybody else and having some mystical knowledge of God, which certainly would also be associated with verse 14, the “Jewish myths” that they had concocted; the allegories and mythical, fantastic things that they conceived to be represented by Old Testament teaching.  They thought they had ascended to another sort of Gnostic, Judaistic level, and they knew God in a higher way than anybody else because they had been circumcised and they had the secret interpretations of the Old Testament and they had concocted all these commandments and rules and they were abiding by them and keeping all the ceremonial laws. And they were saying to Christians, "You only believe in Christ; you're on a very low level; you don't know God until you ascend to the level we're on" - our esoteric, mystical level, which also involved very physical things like circumcision and ritual.

We don't know the exact form of this heresy.  There's really no need to know it.  We just need to know it was heresy.  And at its heart it was putting confidence in myths and human commandments, rather than in Christ, and believing that circumcision and the keeping of certain rituals and ceremonies could save.
This certainly doesn't happen. In fact TMS allows for error as a matter of 'opinion' as if doctrine is optional:

"Why do false teachers go after you in isolation?  Because they want to pull you apart from the church.  They want to isolate you.  If a false teacher comes into your Sunday school class and gives his stuff, immediately after the class somebody is going to come, if you're confused, and help you to see the truth. If a false teacher comes into your school, the other professors - say in your seminary, who know the Word of God - are going to point out where he made his errors.  But if they can get you in your house where there's nobody else to help you, that's, you see, why the cults even want to come in and do a private Bible study with you. They want to cut you off and isolate you from the source of your strength, the body of Christ.  They pick on families.
Except that I've been a witness to them NOT saying anything. "Now's not the time or place" to silence false teachers. They don't do it on the church level nor the school level. Nor the social media level. In fact, the defenders of famous Christians who they want to attach themselves or ministry to, often isolate the Truth Teller by mocking, ridicule, name calling, treating such a person as hysterical, emotional, etc. Their own gang will gang up on you as well and slander you behind your back to others so that no one listens to the truth you are saying.
Here is what Austin Duncan ("Jesus became evil incarnate on the cross"), Keller (Evolution, Marxism, Liberation Theology, Mysticism, Feminism, gay agenda), Mohler (Liberation Theology, gay agenda, Ecumenicism)and Piper (Hedonism, Mysticism, Evolution, Feminism, Sensual spirituality, Romanism, gay agenda) have done. But does MacArthur act on 2 Peter 2:18 to which he refers? No. He continues to give them a platform:
""He says in the same verse, verse 11, as to their effect: "They are upsetting whole families by teaching things they shouldn't teach."  They have no right to teach them.  They say they're the truth of God and they're not.  They misrepresent God's Word.  It's so common today.  In my book on charismatic chaos I have large sections confronting those today - some of those today - who misrepresent God's Word, who misrepresent God and Christ as to His nature and work.  By doing all of this they have the effect of producing confusion, doubt, chaos, upsetting whole families, turning them topsy-turvy in chaos and confusion."
What does he think sharing the pulpit with such men does? It causes confusion at BEST. Moreover it lessens any teaching of Truth to that of opinion with no consequence.

When you mix truth with error (how else will they seduce Christians?), you only have error. Truth by nature is purely truth. Not sort of truth. God is a God of precision and so is His Word (
Heb. 4:12-13). So every man who dares to speak for God in a teaching capacity BETTER get it right or else they are not qualified to teach. James 3:1 says they fall under a stricter judgment.
"We have to silence these people.  We have to silence them by taking away their platform.  Don't put them on the radio.  Don't put them on television.  Don't print their books.  We have to silence them.  The church has got to wake up to this.  We've got to silence them because they proliferate. They're all over everywhere, and in their proliferation, their, their inherently wicked nature has a negative effect on people - it overturns, upsets, creates chaos, doubt, confusion in the church.  And don't we know they do it for money?"

More men who are associates and friends of MacArthur, who should be silenced and their platform removed:

I should also include other of MacArthur's friends like Mark Dever, CJ Mahaney, Steve Lawson, and Ligon Duncan, who all do the same thing:  if not teaching contrary to Scripture, then NOT silence false teachers but rather JOINING them in an UNHOLY alliance.

Jas 2:1  My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism
Jas 2:2  For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and there also comes in a poor man in dirty clothes,
Jas 2:3  and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the fine clothes, and say, "You sit here in a good place," and you say to the poor man, "You stand over there, or sit down by my footstool,"
Jas 2:4  have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil motives?

Col 3:25  For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality

Pro 18:5  To show partiality to the wicked is not good, Nor to thrust aside the righteous in judgment.

1Ti 5:21  I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of His chosen angels, to maintain these principles without bias, doing nothing in a spirit of partiality.

Unquestioning Submission to Elders Is Unbiblical

"So, the Scripture simply asks the congregation to obey just as it asks a child to obey his parents. Not to decide whether the parents are right or wrong, but to obey. To submit there must be unity." ~John MacArthur, 1993

This isn't what Scripture teaches. 1John 4 says to test vigorously every spirit and 1&2 Timothy, Titus, and 3John for example also talks about this. So does 1Peter 5.What MacArthur is describing and perpetuating is over-lording. There is no such thing as blind submission. There is no such thing as obedience as a child to a parent in the elder-congregation biblical construction. Elders aren't our parents. We are anointed with the Holy Spirit and have the Word and hear His voice, so when we test elders and find them out of order, going beyond Scripture, and demanding us to obey their conscience, grasping at keeping their authority and territory over the people, that's actually a cult.

Only when an elder speaks in line with the Scriptures, do we obey, but not when they go beyond it. It's that simple.

Piper's Hedonism For Kids

A few excerpts from The Christian Post regarding John Piper:

"How can I best communicate Christian Hedonism to my children during our family worship? Their ages are 5 to 12. What should be my aims and goals? Any tips for a dad like me?" he asked.

Piper responded that he advised not using the term "hedonism," but rather teach children about the concept through "clarifying" and "exemplifying."

Why not use his term "hedonism"? Could it be because of the term itself? Imagine little Johnny talking about hedonism at school. That's why the word is unbiblical--it's about erros love and pursuit of pleasure. In addition, children should not be presume to be saved but only saved people can have true joy. It's setting up false converts.

On the same issue of hedonism:

"Piper identified various Christian intellectuals as well as his own father as being the ones who led him to embrace the concept".

That's true, because it's nowhere in Scripture and not from the Holy Spirit. He got it from the world. But it's been lucrative for him.

"God should feel joyful to these children, because he feels joyful to us — that is, he feels to us like a burden lifter, not a burden giver."

So Piper believes God is an experience and wants kids involved. That's pagan mysticism & rejected by God in His Word. Children should hear that God's law is good because it shows us our sin (Rom. 7:7). They should feel the "burden" of their sin! (Rom. 3:10-18)They should feel they've fallen short of His glory (Rom. 3:23). The only way to deal with the guilt of being lawbreakers is through hearing, believing, and trusting in the biblical Gospel (Rom. 1-5; 10 ). Ironically, Piper teaches a false one at that too. He's a downright mess and leading so many astray.

Socialism Is Anti-biblical and Goes Against The Family

The world can see it, but the Evangelical Machine can't.

This is the Heritage Foundation's description of a conference coming up in 2019 (it is "secular", not Christian, but is a politically/culturally conservative think tank) and I thought that their view was such a juxtaposition from that of the Evangelical Machine (TGC, T4G, Keller, Piper, MacArthur, Ron Burns, Chandler, Mohler, etc). When you push for sodomy and feminism and when you tolerate divorce and pedophilia, you automatically attack God's nature and order of things, because you are rebelling against what He has deemed right and proper (Gen. 1, Matt. 19, Rom. 1, 1Tim. 2, Titus 2, 1Cor 14). As a matter of fact, the foundation for all false teachers and their teachings is a low regard for God's Word and a high regard for man's.

"Socialism is a distortion, in a collectivist direction, of human beings’ natural need for familial connection with others. But socialism and the family are incompatible. The family requires independence from governmental interference in order to flourish, and parents know its needs better than government officials can. Meanwhile, the breakdown of the traditional family leads to greater need for state assistance. The ethos of self-gratification that weakens commitment to the family also leads to increased desire for services from the state. Hence it is no accident that, historically, advocacy of socialism has always tended to go hand in hand with hostility to the traditional family structure. Anyone opposed to socialism should defend the traditional family and anyone concerned to defend the traditional family should oppose socialism."

“You cannot subsidize irresponsibility and expect people to become more responsible.”
- Thomas Sowell

This is why Scripture teaches against socialism. God demands man be responsible for himself and said if you aren't willing to work, you don't get to eat. Man is to work with his own hands so he can provide for his family and the needy (true needy) especially in the local church. Marxism is opposed to biblical Truth. It is godless, idolizes the government and is corrupt. It's leaders have oppressed, starved and murdered millions of people over the years. While promising equality and justice, it is anything but.

What is the answer to this? Solo Scriptura: Scripture only. Obey the voice of the King of kings, for He has already commanded by way of the apostle Paul:

Col 2:8  See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

2Co 10:5  We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

This necessarily means guarding your mind against such things by not spending time in such foolish empty garbage--the trap set by the enemy to seduce minds by appealing to the intellect. It is nothing more than standing there and considering the ancient serpent's claims he made to Eve, "Hath God said?" as he appealed to knowledge OUTSIDE of God's Word.

1Th 5:22  abstain from every form of evil.

1Th 2:9  For you recall, brethren, our labor and hardship, how working night and day so as not to be a burden to any of you, we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.

Eph 4:28  Let him who steals steal no longer; but rather let him labor, performing with his own hands what is good, in order that he may have something to share with him who has need.

2Th 3:7  For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example, because we did not act in an undisciplined manner among you,
2Th 3:8  nor did we eat anyone's bread without paying for it, but with labor and hardship we kept working night and day so that we might not be a burden to any of you;
2Th 3:9  not because we do not have the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you, that you might follow our example.
2Th 3:10  For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone will not work, neither let him eat.
2Th 3:11  For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies.
2Th 3:12  Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread.

1Th 4:11  and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you12  so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.
Eph 4:28  Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.
Rom 13:8  Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Mar 14:7  For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want, you can do good for them. But you will not always have Me.

1Ti 5:8  But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

1Ti 5:16  If any woman who is a believer has dependent widows, let her assist them, and let not the church be burdened, so that it may assist those who are widows indeed.

Pro 18:9  Whoever is slack in his work is a brother to him who destroys

Pro 20:4  The sluggard does not plow in the autumn; he will seek at harvest and have nothing.

Rom 14:12  So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.

1Sa 8:10  So Samuel told all the words of the LORD to the people who were asking for a king from him.
1Sa 8:11  He said, "These will be the ways of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and appoint them to his chariots and to be his horsemen and to run before his chariots.
1Sa 8:12  And he will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and some to plow his ground and to reap his harvest, and to make his implements of war and the equipment of his chariots.
1Sa 8:13  He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers.
1Sa 8:14  He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive orchards and give them to his servants.
1Sa 8:15  He will take the tenth of your grain and of your vineyards and give it to his officers and to his servants.
1Sa 8:16  He will take your male servants and female servants and the best of your young men and your donkeys, and put them to his work.
1Sa 8:17  He will take the tenth of your flocks, and you shall be his slaves.

1Sa 8:18  And in that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day."

"I fear lest in any of you there should be even the least measure of despising the one lost sheep because of the large and philosophical methods which are now so loudly advocated. I would not have you exchange the gold of individual Christianity for the base metal of Christian Socialism. If the wanderers are to be brought in, in vast numbers, as I pray they may be, yet must it be accomplished by the bringing of them in one by one. To attempt national regeneration without personal regeneration is to dream of erecting a house without separate bricks. In the vain attempt to work in the gross, we may miss the practical result which would have followed working in detail. Let us settle it in our minds that we cannot do better than obey the example of our Lord Jesus given us in the text and go after the one sheep which has gone astray."

~Spurgeon, "One Lost Sheep", April 28, 1889

The Hypocrisy of the Pro-"Gay Christian" Liberation Theologians

Chandler's church wouldn't let pedophile Jordan Root be in the kids' building...doesn't that mean these people who promote the "gay Christian" lie really actually DO think that one can't control their sexual urges & if so, why don't they think the same about sodomites?

They can't have it both ways--if the sexually perverted never have their lusts removed, then they are a danger to others. This isn't going to end well for many people whose churches are run by fuhrer-social justice warriors.Bad ecclesiology, bad doctrine, bad leaders. No agape.

Sing 2019

Just a few days after the Getty's ecumenical Sing 2018 concluded, they put up the registration and speaker list for next year's conference.

Os Guinness

I've written about him previously. Go here for the info. Suffice it to say that he's an Anglican, which means he's not a Christian, since Anglicanism is a works-based religion birthed out of Romanism by sexually immoral King Henry VIII because he wanted to divorce his wife in order to marry his mistress. Jesus said if the foundation is on sand, it will be destroyed. He also said that a evil tree can only produce evil fruit. Both are true of the Anglican church. Also, Guinness' church is feminist as it has women priests. He is also mystical.

Joni Tada

I've also written on Tada in the past. Go here for the articles in which I mention her. Of note, she is ecumenical (Lausanne Congress & conference hosted by them; signed the inter-faith Manhattan Declaration), is a mystic (promotes pagan prayer circles), and somewhat of a feminist as she preaches from the pulpit to mixed audiences. Often times women get behind a pulpit and claim to be “sharing their hearts” but in doing so, they end up exhorting and teaching men. This is the foot in the door we’re to avoid. She also campaigned for pro-abortionist (he's ok with some abortions, not for abolishing it)Roman Catholic Marc Rubio two years ago.

Mark Dever

He attacks God's Word and the sanctification of the Christian by saying that taking a stand on eschatology (specifically a millennial view) as a church is a sin. This is totally contrary to Scripture. I deal with that here. More on Dever here.

Paul Tripp

He's a Post-Modernist who sees no problem using certain cuss words, since it's merely a cultural construct (never mind Scripture prohibits it). Go here for info on him.

The Gettys

Sang with Roman Catholic Matt Maher (Chris Tomlin and Matt Redman have also collaborated with him on "All To Us" and Redman with Maher on "Remembrance-The Communion Song".) LifewayWorship's "The Gospel Project Summer 2018" offers Maher's "Glory Let There Be Peace" "for personal study".

Mark Dever: despising prophecy and treating Scripture as strange

Leaders in the Evangelical Mafia Machine like Mark Dever despise biblical doctrine and set up man-man constructs to divide and chop up the King's commands and doctrine into parts they think are worth their time and attention and those that aren't. This is what Al Mohler, another Evangelical Mafia Machine leader calls the doctrine triage (prioritizing or triaging doctrine into catagories of importance, like doctors do in the emergency room with patients).

As I reported previously, Dever rebelliously states (bold, my emphasis):

"Therefore for us to conclude that we must agree upon a certain view of alcohol, or a certain view of schooling, or a certain view of meat sacrificed to idols, or a certain view of the millennium in order to have fellowship together is, I think, not only unnecessary for the body of Christ, but it is therefore both unwarranted and therefore condemned by scripture."

"So if you’re a pastor and you’re listening to me, you understand me correctly if you think I’m saying you are in sin if you lead your congregation to have a statement of faith that requires a particular millennial view. I do not understand why that has to be a matter of uniformity in order to have Christian unity in a local congregation."

However he is despising prophecy of Scripture and quenching the Holy Spirit, which also leads people into wickedness, since sound doctrine (which includes the Christology) is inseparably married to our sanctification.

1Th 5:19  Do not quench the Spirit;
1Th 5:20  do not despise prophetic utterances.
1Th 5:21  But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good;
1Th 5:22  abstain from every form of evil.

Hos 8:12  Though I wrote for him ten thousand precepts of My law, They are regarded as a strange thing.

Rev 1:2  who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. 3  Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.

Teach all biblical doctrine, for all Truth is one unit, one body of Truth:

Mat 28:19  "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20  teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Mat 22:40  "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."

Jas 2:9  But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10  For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.

Act 3:21  whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.
Act 3:22  "Moses said, 'THE LORD GOD SHALL RAISE UP FOR YOU A PROPHET LIKE ME FROM YOUR BRETHREN; TO HIM YOU SHALL GIVE HEED in everything He says to you
Act 3:23  'And it shall be that every soul that does not heed that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.'

Act 5:19  But an angel of the Lord during the night opened the gates of the prison, and taking them out he said,
Act 5:20  "Go your way, stand and speak to the people in the temple the whole message of this Life."

Act 20:20  how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly and from house to house,
Act 20:21  solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Act 20:27  "For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God.

Tit 1:9  holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, that he may be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.

2Ti 3:16  All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17  that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

1Ti 4:13  Until I come, give attention to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation and teaching.

1Ti 6:12  Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Jud 1:3  Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

Does eschatology matter? Does one's view of the Millennium matter? Here's what Scripture states:

The messianic, kingly rule does matter, because Jesus being the promised Messiah ("Christ") and Savior and Judge are all inseparably bound to each other. If God gave us the truth regarding the Millennial rule of the Messiah in Scripure, then it is by definition not only knowable, but we are bound to believe and obey it. Eschatology is directly bound to the Person of Christ and our sanctification.

Rev 1:1  The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,
Rev 1:2  who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.
Rev 1:3  Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.

Rev 1:10  I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet
Rev 1:11  saying, "Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea."

Rev 19:9  And the angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb." And he said to me, "These are the true words of God."

Rev 19:11  Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.

Rev 21:5  And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

Rev 22:7  "And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book."

Rev 20:1  Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain.
Rev 20:2  And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years,
Rev 20:3  and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while.
Rev 20:4  Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
Rev 20:5  The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection.
Rev 20:6  Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
Rev 20:7  And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison

Rev 22:7  "And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book."

Rev 22:18  I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book,
Rev 22:19  and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

2Th 2:1  Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to Him,
2Th 2:2  that you may not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.
2Th 2:3  Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,
2Th 2:4  who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.
2Th 2:5  Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things?
2Th 2:6  And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he may be revealed.
2Th 2:7  For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.
2Th 2:8  And then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;
2Th 2:9  that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders,
2Th 2:10  and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.
2Th 2:11  And for this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they might believe what is false,
2Th 2:12  in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.

The David Covenant is inseparably bound to Christ Jesus the Messiah and His salvation:

Jer 33:15  'In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch of David to spring forth; and He shall execute justice and righteousness on the earth.
Jer 33:16  'In those days Judah shall be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell in safety; and this is the name by which she shall be called: the LORD is our righteousness.'
Jer 33:17  "For thus says the LORD, 'David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel;
Jer 33:18  and the Levitical priests shall never lack a man before Me to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings, and to prepare sacrifices continually.'"

Jer 33:25  "Thus says the LORD, 'If My covenant for day and night stand not, and the fixed patterns of heaven and earth I have not established,
Jer 33:26  then I would reject the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, not taking from his descendants rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But I will restore their fortunes and will have mercy on them.'"

Mat 1:1  The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Mat 2:1  Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying,
Mat 2:2  "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east, and have come to worship Him."

Mat 27:11  Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor questioned Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" And Jesus said to him, "It is as you say."

Isa 9:6  For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isa 9:7  There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.

Isa 11:1  Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, And a branch from his roots will bear fruit.
Isa 11:2  And the Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.
Isa 11:3  And He will delight in the fear of the LORD, And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make a decision by what His ears hear;
Isa 11:4  But with righteousness He will judge the poor, And decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth; And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.
Isa 11:5  Also righteousness will be the belt about His loins, And faithfulness the belt about His waist.
Isa 11:6  And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, And the leopard will lie down with the kid, And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little boy will lead them.

Act 2:29  "Brethren, I may confidently say to you regarding the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
Act 2:30  "And so, because he was a prophet, and knew that GOD HAD SWORN TO HIM WITH AN OATH TO SEAT one OF HIS DESCENDANTS UPON HIS THRONE,
Act 2:31  he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that HE WAS NEITHER ABANDONED TO HADES, NOR DID His flesh SUFFER DECAY.
Act 2:32  "This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses.
Act 2:33  "Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear.
Act 2:34  "For it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says: 'THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD, "SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,
Act 2:35  UNTIL I MAKE THINE ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR THY FEET."'
Act 2:36  "Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ--this Jesus whom you crucified."
Act 2:37  Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brethren, what shall we do?"
Act 2:38  And Peter said to them, "Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Act 5:29  But Peter and the apostles answered and said, "We must obey God rather than men.
Act 5:30  "The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had put to death by hanging Him on a cross.
Act 5:31  "He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
Act 5:32  "And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him."

2Pe 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.
2Pe 3:11  Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,
2Pe 3:12  looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, on account of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!

1Th 3:12  and may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all men, just as we also do for you;
1Th 3:13  so that He may establish your hearts unblamable in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.

1Th 5:1  Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you.
1Th 5:2  For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night.
1Th 5:3  While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like birth pangs upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
1Th 5:4  But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief;
1Th 5:5  for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness;
1Th 5:6  so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.
1Th 5:7  For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night.
1Th 5:8  But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.
1Th 5:9  For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
1Th 5:10  who died for us, that whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him.

1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1Pe 1:4  to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
1Pe 1:5  who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
1Pe 1:6  In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials,
1Pe 1:7  that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
1Pe 1:8  and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
1Pe 1:9  obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.
1Pe 1:10  As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful search and inquiry,
1Pe 1:11  seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.

1Pe 4:7  The end of all things is at hand; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.

To say that one's millennial view is as unimportant as a personal preference on food or drink, is to reject absolute Truth, which is how God sanctifies us:

Joh 17:17  "Sanctify them in the truth; Thy word is truth.

Consider all the warnings to the churches in Revelation, too.

Rev 1:3  Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.

2Pe 3:11  Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,

To have such disdain for the Davidic Covenant, that is, the Messiahship of Jesus, is to have disdain for not only God's plan, but for the faithfulness, truthfulness, and knowability of His Word. It's really an attack on His person because He clearly stated that Jesus the Messiah would come through David's line and His throne would not end (this is also attached to the Abrahamic Covenant). This attacks--even prohibits true unity based on biblical doctrine. What Dever is really doing is questioning the clarity, authority, and faithfulness of His Word and Person just as the devil did in the Garden of Eden:

Gen 3:1  Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Indeed, has God said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the garden'?"
Gen 3:2  And the woman said to the serpent, "From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat;
Gen 3:3  but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat from it or touch it, lest you die.'"
Gen 3:4  And the serpent said to the woman, "You surely shall not die!
Gen 3:5  "For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

Dever is an anti-Christ, with an anti-Christ spirit, preaching anti-Christ doctrine.
