Gal 1:10 For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.
How many people fear men rather than God, and therefore become disloyal to Christ for the sake of holding on to their favorite author or speaker, when such a man speaks and acts treacherously against Christ? It seems that to reject a famous author these days is to incur the wrath of men---to be considered an outsider--and lose one's place within the acceptable circle of Christianity. Even among leaders, to reject a disloyal leader/author/speaker isn't done because to do so would mean the loss of an audience, criticism, rejection of themselves.
But what did Jesus say?
Joh 12:25 "He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal. 26 "If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
So, to reject a false teacher, although popular and well-loved by the masses, is to be loyal to Christ above all.
