Soft Words Hide A Hard Heart

Soft, religious words often hide a hard heart, but God will reveal in time the reality of such things. People might be able to fool some people for a while, but God will not be mocked: He will bring to light what was done in darkness. Bad fruit is not easy to hide, nor good fruit easy to fake, for very long.

Matthew 15:8-98 "'This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me;
9 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'"

Psalms 55:21 His speech was smooth as butter, yet war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords.

Proverbs 26:24-26 24 Whoever hates disguises himself with his lips and harbors deceit in his heart;
25 when he speaks graciously, believe him not, for there are seven abominations in his heart;
26 though his hatred be covered with deception, his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

Rom 16:18  For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
