Suicide Is An Indication of Not Being Truly Saved

Recently, there was a pastor of a local mega seeker (pagan) friendly church who killed himself. While a sad thing for that church, it's an indication of how serious it is to not hold to sound doctrine.

Sound doctrine leads to sound thinking and sound living, if truly believed. That is, if one holds Scripture as it is: the very words of God, living and active, infallible, without error, eternal, absolutely true and is one's sole authority for all things pertaining to life and godliness (1Thes 2:13 ; Heb. 4:12-13; 2 Peter 1:3; 2Tim 3:16-17).

2Ti 3:13  But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14  You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them;
2Ti 3:15  and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16  All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
2Ti 3:17  that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

Sound doctrine, the Word of Truth, preserves the soul. That is, it is living, life-giving, nourishing to the soul that is alive to God, a regenerated heart and mind.

Heb 10:39  But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.

True peace is grounded in being in Christ and having HIS peace, feeding on His Word, being equipped by His Word and Holy Spirit to grow and enduring:

Php 4:4  Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!
Php 4:5  Let your forbearing spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.
Php 4:6  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Php 4:7  And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Php 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.
Php 4:9  The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things; and the God of peace shall be with you.

2Pe 1:2  Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord;
  seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
2Pe 1:4  For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, in order that by them you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.
2Pe 1:5  Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge;
2Pe 1:6  and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness;
2Pe 1:7  and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.
2Pe 1:8  For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

When so-called Christians, like "pastors" go to the world for help, it can only lead to unstable ways. But those who are truly saved and have true, biblical faith, will grow and endure and bear fruit that meets with repentance:

Col 2:2  that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself,
Col 2:3  in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge
Col 2:4  I say this in order that no one may delude you with persuasive argument

Col 2:8  See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

Jas 4:1  What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members?
Jas 4:2  You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.
Jas 4:3  You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Jas 4:4  You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Jas 1:2  Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,
Jas 1:3  knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
Jas 1:4  And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Jas 1:5  But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Jas 1:6  But let him ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
Jas 1:7  For let not that man expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,
Jas 1:8  being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Jas 1:18  In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we might be, as it were, the first fruits among His creatures.
Jas 1:19  This you know, my beloved brethren. But let everyone be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger;
Jas 1:20  for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.
Jas 1:21  Therefore putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.
Jas 1:22  But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.

Eph 4:17  This I say therefore, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,
Eph 4:18  being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;
Eph 4:19  and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality, for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.
Eph 4:20  But you did not learn Christ in this way,
Eph 4:21  if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus,
Eph 4:22  that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,
Eph 4:23  and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind
Eph 4:24  and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

Those in Christ have true, living faith and hope that doesn't disappoint.

True biblical faith has as it's core, faith in the literal six day Creation by God's spoken Word as Genesis and other passages declare:

Heb 11:1  Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Heb 11:2  For by it the men of old gained approval.
Heb 11:3  By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.

Rom 5:1  Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Rom 5:2  through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.
Rom 5:3  And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;
Rom 5:4  and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;
Rom 5:5  and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

1Pe 1:1  Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who reside as aliens, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, who are chosen 2  according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in fullest measure.
1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4  to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5  who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Rom 16:17  Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.
Rom 16:18  For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.

1Ti 6:3  If anyone advocates a different doctrine, and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness,
1Ti 6:4  he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions,
1Ti 6:5  and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain.

2Ti 3:5  holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; and avoid such men as these.
2Ti 3:6  For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses,
2Ti 3:7  always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

A person who kills himself does not have this hope, this faith, this endurance. Psychobabble is nothing but worldly, demonic, anti-Christ, anti-Holy Spirit, anti-biblical doctrine that is impure, untrue, not good, is selfish, divisive, hostile toward God, feeds the flesh, causes division, quarrels, and conflicts, denies sin and godliness as God has defined it. So those who hold to any part of such philosophies of the world are feeding on what is deadly and incapable of dealing with their sin, thoughts, motives, and actions, therefore they are in a hopeless, dead, lifeless, powerless state.
