Day of Atonement: Without the Shedding of Blood There Is No Forgiveness

Heb 9:22  And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Psa 14:1  For the choir director. A Psalm of David. The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; There is no one who does good. 2  The LORD has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there are any who understand, Who seek after God. 3  They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one.

Isa 64:5  You meet him who rejoices in doing righteousness, Who remembers You in Your ways. Behold, You were angry, for we sinned, We continued in them a long time; And shall we be saved? 6  For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

If there is no blood shed, there is no forgiveness. No priest, no lamb, no blood, no cleansing, no forgiveness.

God is HOLY HOLY HOLY (Ezek 6) therefore He will not be pleased with anything less than HIS requirements fulfilled. Mere prayer cannot atone for sin. Life for life. The wages of sin is death. Prayer cannot circumcsize a heart. That is the work of God, but it is what He requires. Yes, God requires what is impossible with man, but only possible with HIM.

Isa 6:1  In the year of King Uzziah's death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple.
Isa 6:2  Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
Isa 6:3  And one called out to another and said, "Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory."
Isa 6:4  And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke.
Isa 6:5  Then I said, "Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I live among a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts."
Isa 6:6  Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from the altar with tongs.
Isa 6:7  He touched my mouth with it and said, "Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin is forgiven."
Isa 6:8  Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I. Send me!"
Isa 6:9  He said, "Go, and tell this people: 'Keep on listening, but do not perceive; Keep on looking, but do not understand.'
Isa 6:10  "Render the hearts of this people insensitive, Their ears dull, And their eyes dim, Otherwise they might see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their hearts, And return and be healed."
Isa 6:11  Then I said, "Lord, how long?" And He answered, "Until cities are devastated and without inhabitant, Houses are without people And the land is utterly desolate,

Are you like Ezekiel who was totally humbled before the thrice Holy God of Israel as He gazed upon the glory of God and therefore saw how wretched of a sinner he and the Jews were? Or are you like the nation whose hearts have been hardened, ears that cannot hear, a stubborn and stiff-necked person, unwilling to be humbled by God before God?

Rom 10:12  For there is no difference both of Jew and of Greek, for the same Lord of all is rich toward all the ones calling on Him.
Rom 10:13  For everyone, "whoever may call on the name of the Lord will be saved." Joel 2:32
Rom 10:14  How then may they call on One into whom they have not believed? And how may they believe One of whom they have not heard? And how may they hear without preaching?
Rom 10:15  And how may they preach if they are not sent? Even as it has been written, "How beautiful" "the feet of those preaching the gospel of peace, of those preaching the gospel of good things." Isa. 52:7
Rom 10:16  But not all obeyed the gospel, for Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?" Isa. 53:1
Rom 10:17  Then faith is of hearing, and hearing through the Word of God.
Rom 10:18  But I say, Did they not hear? Yes, rather, "into all the earth their voice went out, and to the ends of the world their words." LXX-Psa. 18:5; MT-Psa. 19:4
Rom 10:19  But I say, Did not Israel know? First, Moses says, "I will provoke you to jealousy by a non-nation, by an unwise nation I will anger you." Deut. 32:21
Rom 10:20  But Isaiah is very bold and says, "I was found by those not seeking Me; I became known to those not inquiring after Me." Isa. 65:1
Rom 10:21  But to Israel He says, "All the day I stretched out My hands to a disobeying and contradicting people." Isa. 65:2
