Rick Warren's Church Observes World AIDS Day

The "Christian" Post reports :
Saddleback Church, the Southern California-based megachurch headed by pastor and best-selling author Rick Warren, will take part in the global observance of World AIDS Day on Saturday.
“This year, all our So Cal campuses will be showing their support by passing out and wearing red HIV/AIDS awareness pins,” the church said about their efforts to "raise awareness and reduce the stigma of HIV/AIDS....”
For years, Saddleback has taken an active role in helping to combat HIV/AIDS and to minister those affected by the virus. In 2012, Saddleback hosted a “Compassion Weekend” to coincide with World AIDS Day, with the two-day event focusing on Rwandan orphans whose parents died from HIV-AIDS.
End quote.
This is not new. More here. The problem is that John MacArthur is participating alongside Warren and various other false teachers at the NRB conference --the NRB claims to have a unity among their teachers and programs on the "gospel" and who Jesus is. Certainly there is no unity on doctrinal truth.
2 John 2:9-11 still is a thing. It applies. Now more than ever.

I am wondering about your thoughts on MacArthur's interview with Ben Shapiro. Someone sent me the link and I just listened to a few minutes of it. At 5 minutes into it, John MacArthur speaks about what the Bible states a government ruler should be. The problem is that the reference he uses applied to Old Testament rulers of the nation of Israel. It does not apply to world rulers through out this age. We know that every government ruler has been set into place by the LORD. Even Jesus Christ said to Pilot that the power Pilot had was given to him by God the Father. And the Word of God clearly states that God can put anyone into place as a ruler even a base person.

Rick Warren has been involved in politics for many years and now in recent years so has MacArthur. I just do not see it as a requirement in Scripture for Christians to be in government and to try to change laws. I do read that the world will get worse and that Jesus Christ is calling out a people for His own. It seems odd to me that the interview was even done since Shapiro needs to be saved from his sins just as much as any other nonbeliever. Hopefully the gospel will have taken seed.

It matters not if people have the best of morals and are still without Christ since they will perish just as the most indecent. All of us are sinners and are saved only by the grace of God alone through faith alone in the finished work of Christ alone. As you well know, the majority of professing Christians are following another Jesus. The majority of churches and their ministers are not of God. A sad reality of the time we live in.

We certainly need God's grace to keep our eyes on the Lord Jesus Christ and our minds toward heaven. May the LORD bless you.
