1Jo 1:6 If we say we have fellowship with him while
we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
Oh Nadia Bolz-Weber, you're so five years ago. Foul-mouthed X-rated "pastor" Mark Driscoll and bad boy, tattooed rebel Jay Bakker had it on you years ago.
Time to grow up and act like the middle aged woman you actually are.
And time to get saved.
Wallowing in your sin not only isn't becoming, its a shame and a sham, doing nobody any good.
Preaching about how awesomely rebellious you are instead of how absolutely thrice holy God is, merely proves Nadia, it's all about you and none about HIM. Otherwise you'd be in obedience to His commands (see Scripture below--and yes, all of Scripture is useful for rebuking and correcting because it is all God-breathed (2 Tim. 3:16) and you don't get to pick and choose which parts you'll agree to obey and which you will ignore or claim it's "not for today"). Your lack of obedience merely proves you love Self and not the Jesus Christ of Scripture, who is your Judge.
Isa 45:19b I the LORD speak the truth; I declare what is right.
2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
Scripture speaks to women like Nadia, who are trying so hard to be a man, to be cool, and to wallow in their flesh while calling it "authentic". She is violating many passages of Scripture, not the least of which are the following:
Rom 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
Rom 8:6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.Rom 8:7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot.
Rom 8:8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
1Jn 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1Jn 2:16 For all that is in the world--the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions--is not from the Father but is from the world.
1Jn 2:17 And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
Here are some ways to please God which the big bad feminist "pastor" can't do unless she repents and turns to Christ:
Tit
2:3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in
behavior, not slanderers or slaves to
much wine. They are to teach what is
good, 4
and so train the young women to love their
husbands and children, 5
to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and
submissive to
their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.
1Tim. 2: 11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15 But women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.
1Cor. 14: 33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the congregations of the saints, 34 women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says.
1Pe 3:1 Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives,
1Pe 3:2 when they see your respectful and pure conduct.
1Pe 3:3 Do not let your adorning be external--the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear--
1Pe 3:4 but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.
1Pe 3:5 For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands,
1Pe 3:6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening.
Eph 4:17 Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds.
Eph 4:18 They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.
Eph 4:19 They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.
Eph 4:20 But that is not the way you learned Christ!--
Eph 4:21 assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus,
Eph 4:22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires,
Eph 4:23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
Eph 4:24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
Eph 4:28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.
Eph 4:29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
What Nadia is doing is violating everyone one of these. Her life is not one of quiet submission to Christ, living in holiness and fear of God, rejoicing in His Word, keeping a tight rein on her tongue, showing self control and being distinct from the world. No, she is the world, trying to pretend to be a Christian.
She's the biggest hypocrite of all.
Luk 6:26 "Woe to you, when all people speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets.
Joh 15:19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
Mat 15:13 He answered, "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up. 14 Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit."
Mat 15:13 He answered, "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up. 14 Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit."
