Pope Francis: Mary Gets the Spotlight At the Cross, Ignoring the Person and Work of God the Holy Spirit

Original source here.

Thanks to Do Not Be Surprised for the heads up on this.

The pope is consistent with the RC catechism:

RCC Cat. "#487 What the Catholic faith believes about Mary is based on what it believes about Christ, and what it teaches about Mary illumines in turn its faith in Christ."

The Roman Catholic Church cannot and will not give sole praise, adoration, worship, limelight to Jesus Christ alone. They always insert man (or a woman like Mary) with Him.

Mary has nothing to do with the cross. At all. Never in all of Scripture will you find Mary being credited with the crucifixion of Christ, save for her sin and need of the Savior. Nor does a dead woman help us in believing it; that is what the Person and work of the Holy Spirit is for.

Heb 5:9  And being made perfect, He became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey
Him,

Psa 49:7  Truly no man [person] can ransom another, or give to God the price of his life, 8  for the ransom of their life is costly and can never suffice, 9  that he should live on forever and never see the pit. …15  But God will ransom my soul from the power of Sheol, for he will receive me. Selah

Tit 2:13  looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14  who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

1Co 15:3  For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4  and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5  and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.

When we have doubts, we don't turn to a dead woman, rather we are to turn to God:

Mar 9:23  And Jesus said to him, " 'If You can?' All things are possible to him who believes." 24 Immediately the boy's father cried out and said, "I do believe; help my unbelief."

Moreover, the pope and his church are replacing the Holy Spirit with Mary:

Rom 8:26  In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; 27  and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

Joh 14:26  "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

Rom 5:5  and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Mary is nowhere talked about in any of these verses. Rather, redemption, the atonement, salvation, belief, is credited solely to God and Him alone.
